Hey everyone! So, I have been searching through threads before posting this but haven't seen anyone with this issue. It has happened to me 3 times now and I'm not sure if it's a big issue yet or not. Anyways, yesterday when this happened I got home after driving for about an hour and then had to leave again shortly after. Put the truck in the reverse, backed up and when i went to put it in drive it shut off and flashed Low oil pressure and High transmission fluid temperature on my display. Put it in park and started up but it took longer to start and didn't sound that great. I shut the truck back off and checked engine oil and it was good. Is there something I did wrong or has it happened to anyone else? The dealership said they did an update to the transmission the last time i took it in for this issue but I never seen a TSB # on the paper they gave me and they refused to check transmission fluid level. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds like you should bring it back to the dealer and tell them what's going on. I'm assuming it's still under warranty? What year is your truck?

Even if he doesn't, it might be worth the drive. Call, make a appointment for the specific issue.

I just made an appointment, so hopefully they take care of it this time. Unfortunately I purchased the truck at this dealer because its close and for issues like this to be taken care of. I live in BFE so the next closest toyota dealer is a 3 hour drive. If i would have known how horrible the service was I wouldnt have purchased it there. They also refused to rotate my tires per the toyota care. I have called toyota directly twice now to explain to them my experiences.

Make sure you aren't traveling too fast in reverse before shifting. If you do a quick R->D shift after traveling really quickly in reverse, it can stall the truck.

You don't have to take to the dealer you purchased at. You can go to any Toyota dealer. Just don't go to Ford.

Old post I know, my 19 did this exact same thing about 5 times since I've owned it (5,600m). I brought it in the am and told them about the CPS however chances are they're not going to be able to just replace it without replicating it. Waiting to hear back, I was telling the dude there about this thread and he kinda rolled his eyes.

Oh and for whoever gives shits, just got car back. Of course they couldn't replicate the problem... I just got a kick out of them telling me it was because of having LED headlights. I stared at him for a minute and said, 'cmon man really?' He got pretty snippy with me after that and started acting real short. I calmed him down like I have to do with my gf at times (fellas you know) to get him to a level of conversation. FWIW I said I installed the led's way after this problem has happened to me several times. You're just hearing about it now, it's not the led's. At that point I'm like fk it and just got my paperwork and left.
