some autozones will take the used oil if you just have oil in it no coolant. I used to take it there numerous times in many states. Now I just take it to our local garage since autozone is too far to take the oil.

Never been, but would be interested. Don’t know how good it would be with just stock lights.

If you’re running synthetic, Toyota charges an insane amount for a change. Any lack in performance since seeing that seep on the block?

Einstein's charges $30+tax if you bring your own filter and oil, they are now offering Mobil 1 too.

Have been in Idaho foir some time now and a transplant from the west coast, so hi to you all here.

I go to Einstein's, I get synthetic though and its a lot more for synthetic but I don't have anywhere to do oil changes so I gotta do it but they do a good job I think

Money wise it's cheaper to bring my own oil a filter that to do their full over rated service. I hate having the blood levels checked by a non-taco mechanico. For thirty buck its well worth it. Good job? Now to check for proper tightness of your OF.

I've never spent much time in Idaho, just driven through, so this summer (maybe late August? Early Sept?) I'm going to take as much time as I can off of work, two or maybe three weeks, and explore and photograph (amateurishly) as much of the state as I can. I may dip over into western Montana too if I have the time. I'm looking for suggestions from the experts on roads I shouldn't miss, killer campsites that might not be full to the brim that time of year, etc. That is, if you're willing to share your secrets with an Oregon kid who has been trapped in the California concrete jungle for far too long. Can't tell you how much I miss the PNW.

I'll be by myself in a mostly stock third gen OR, so my plan is to limit myself to 'somewhat dodgy FS roads' and not do any real challenging offroading - the Magruder Corridor and Lolo Motorway are the kinds of places on my list (the latter thanks to this thread!). I'll probably spend a lot of time on pavement though, trying to see as much as I can in the time I've got. I'm also curious how crowded I should expect things to be in the late summer.

Right now I'm just adding every cool sounding road, location, etc to a map. In a month or two I'll start paring it down to what I'll actually have time to do without rushing too much. Here's my map in progress: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1N6RFvD8o0N_DG4Yz94tUyy_iz0-9r9aP

Thanks in advance for any advice to this invader. :)

Pioneer cemeteries. One of the things I like to do on road trips through the West is photograph old cemeteries - morbid, I know, but there is a lot of history there. https://www.flickr.com/photos/129413802@N07/19124095179/in/album-72157654878597470/

I have a lot of respect for the folks who struggled with their families to make a new life in the wilderness off the edge of the map, and these old sites are a good reminder of how hard life was.

I find that is the case with most of them, sadly. In an old cemetery in Frisco, Utah I remember seeing one family with seven children all in a row, all under 10 years, several under six months. The dates for the parents were shortly after the last children. A hard life.

Was going to ask you all on your opinions on most beautiful/relaxing fishing and camping spots not too far from Boise/Meridian? I'm off this week and looking to get away hopefully for a couple days with my guy. I'm hoping to get him hooked on the outdoors like he use to be years ago... I've been a lot of places but maybe I've missed some good ones I didn't know about...

That’s really interesting , I love stopping by these historic places as well.
    Gets your mind to wander
Thanks ! I learned something today

Strange thing , more men died in the civil war from disentery than the war itself

    hey y'all,
so I found someone selling an ARB front bumper on CL. It came of a 04 tacoma, and I have a 00 tacoma. ive tried to look at some youtube videos and on forums if there are difference with mounting from an 04 to a 00 for the ARB bumper but couldn't really find anything. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this ?
here are a couple pictures of the bumper

Hate to break it to you but that's a fj80 bumper, won't fit your Tacoma.
