I took off this past Friday and Monday. Just buttoning up a few things for my coworker so she doesn't get stuck with a mess from me. I'm not a 'burn your bridge' kind of guy. I'm enjoying my last week - no stress, walk around with a big smile, no deadlines, etc... Cake and lunch on Thursday too. Friday is a short day; walk around, give kisses, and shake hands, then leave before lunch - probably by 11.

Nope was thinking about a concrete driveway that's also heated so Mike doesn't have to worry about his driveway anymore

Wow just Wow !!! :facepalm:34 pages over 600 posts over an issue with a vendor and customer
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/i-dont-know-what-im-doing-and-its-the-sellers-fault.548148/

Okay so vendor mfgs a shifter ball for customer and has explicit instructions , parts included and pipe sealant to lock shifter ball onto shifter handle

Customer receives said shifter ball then has said item cerakoted . next thing he finds out that threads lock onto handle and now galling threads onto shifter handle He then accuses vendor of damage to his shifter handle ...... And this discussion carries on and on

Last time I checked once you receive a part with a machined threaded surface especially cerakoted you run a tap to clean said threads

The buyer F'd up not the vendor !!!!

We have a small section like that in front of the shop car wash. Worked great until it broke then it was glare ice. Lol

If you were the customer and had this shifter ball and had it cerakoted , you would tap the threads ................ Right ??

Yes ,,,however to be the devils advocate ,, did it say to tap the threads in the instructions ?
However,,, to be the devils advocate,, you would think a little common sense would be to stop trying to install it if it bound up........
    So....

Yep mask the threads and then run a tap to make sure they're clean

The customer had a company Cerakote his shifter ball . as with any coating application especially cerakote you're going to clean with solvent and possibly media blast to get the part ready for coating

The cerakote vendor cleaned all the thread lock off the threads . the OP should have tapped the threads but didn't resulting in damage during install

I worked on a water tank for a campground in the San Diego mountains that the outlet line was apparently broken when they backfilled the ditch. By the time I came around a few years later there was barely a trickle hitting the spigots and the tank was overflowing. We pumped the tank out and the whole outlet end of the tank was full of fine roots that looked like a horsehair rug from nearby plants. Ended up replacing about 20' of pvc...but that terracotta pipe is pretty classis stuff for root intrusion. Don't hardly see it much anymore.
