@Schulz670 Hey Austin! Sorry I never replied back on your offer! I've been so exhausted that I've just been driving straight through every city until this morning when I decided I couldn't keep it up and have extended my road trip an extra day. I'll be back in TX possibly this October but for sure next May. Do you have any pics of your Ford you could share here since I missed my chance to see it?

Likewise Nathan. Looking forward to seeing your truck in action. If you're ever out this way don't hesitate to ask if you need a place to stay

I'm glad I had my OBD-II scanner so I could get in line with you :) Will definitely shoot ya a message prior to planning my road trip back out next year

It will be more than steering ;) Good to hear your steering is doing good. Having the wheel clocked that far out might indicate the pinion is skipping over the teeth of the rack. I've not experienced a bad rack myself, but from what I've gathered from people who have, you'll start noticing reduced steering response eventually having to make 3 and 4 point turns just to make normal corners on the trail. So sounds like you're system is doing good which is great to hear. :)

No worries on the hi-jack, I love seeing other people's rigs. Basketcase :rofl: such an epic project truck name!! I love it. Our product out of stock... an issue we've been slowly improving over the last few years but at least you got an IW and can get out and have some fun!! It's hard to tell on my laptop speakers what engine it's got.....or is it the 4.0 without a muffler.....? Linked F&R, Pitbulls, sweet bed cage work, looks like an absolute blast man! I see the vid is from last summer. Hows it coming along?

Regarding weight, I don't have a clue but will find out tomorrow :)[/QUOTE]

Sa-weeeeeeeeeeet!! A TacoBox behind an automatic with your 2UZ-FE producing more than 200 lb-ft of torque by 1,500 RPM is an incredible combination. The truck will almost just idling over everything with that V8 and the amount of control you'll have... especially on sharp drop offs where you've got high compression and VVTI of EIGHT pistons for better engine compression braking than the rest of us..... is just amazing.

Negative. First time seeing it. I spoke to the owner and he said he got the hood from a friend. I told him it was one sexy hood :D

Too cool! Posts the sweet video of my run and owns the sweet 1st gen Tacoma :D

Most interesting. I wonder if it wasn't up enough for your brake light to come on (such that the ECU didn't know the e-brake was set) but yet was enough to cause one tire to rotate at a large enough difference from the other (maybe one of your brake shoes is adjusted tighter than the other, etc)...

Brake light was on. I spun driver rear tire & passenger front tires before the warning showed up. 4low and reverse FYI.

Thank you for the extra info. It seems that if the truck knew the e-brake was on then why throw the error? Maybe I'd want the e-brake on while I try to maneuver the vehicle as slow as possible... They should consider that as an exception to that warning.

As for me, however, I have not reconnected my e-brake handle switch so my truck has no clue if the e-brakes are on or off........other than wheel speed sensors. But, as the system surely wouldn't expect (an) the e-brake to be pulled while yet also at some quantifiable speed, it makes sense why my system threw a fit.

Zero wheel speed sensed on one wheel and no brake fluid pressure sensed by the abs module would be my best guess on your issue.

When heading back to my rig I saw an awesome white 3rd gen, almost like how mine used to be! Is the owner of this one here? If so chime in. I didn't hear what you last said to me. It was something about my build thread? Thanks!

These event coordinators know what they are doing. The dinner line intentionally passed by the raffle items. Such a great idea for raffle ticket sales

    IMG_3428.jpg

At the food line exit they were handing out kids toys! How cool is this?!!?

As the sun was setting the raffle was just getting started. @SMKYTXN Nathan, didn't you say it was over $40K worth of donations or something insane like that?

Earlier in the day I had told Tom that I'd need to leave during the raffle to start my (too ambitious) return drive back home. So without me even asking he volunteered to raffle one of our two main items near the beginning, and also without me asking he offered an open mic for me to put in some words for the item before the ticket gets drawn. How cool these guys are out here. I was definitely impressed with how well vendors are treated at this event. Thank you very much to Tom, Matt, Steven, Chris, and everyone else running this show. You guys put on an awesome event, thank you!

After getting up and saying a few words, I pulled the ticket for this fine gentlemen who in fact had just placed an order with us only last month, knew we'd have a gift certificate for a TacoBox, and spent extra ticket $$ just for it! And whatta know, as luck would have it..............

Congratulations Florian!! Time to transform your 2005 6cyl AC with an awesome MANUAL transmission into a true Rock Crawler!!

    IMG_3437.jpg

*excellent banner placement if I must say so myself ;)

I'm sooo happy I made the event this year for so many reasons!

If the winner of our second TacoBox gift cert is out there, post up and let me know! We'd love to give a shout out on our social media!

And that was it for my first-time experience at the Lone Star Toyota Jamboree!!

There was a second event after the timed rock event called the Stampede which was a high speed short course with a few jumps and sharp corners that I did not get a chance to check out (was busy talking to new awesome folks!) and I don't have any pictures of. Sorry about that!

For my first time I thought I got to see a lot and now that I have a better understanding of the format, I hope to have a better, more detailed trip report for 2019!

Got my booth loaded up and I quietly slipped away long before the end of the raffle. Hope everyone had a great time!!

West bound and down, back on the road for another 1,700 mile stretch!

Got out at a decent time. This is just past 9pm on Saturday. I had about a 3 hr drive ahead of me to close out the day.

    IMG_3448.jpg

Between traveling back and forth between my hotel (stop and go, with hills, 40 miles round trip, twice daily) and a lot of idling and bouncing off the rev limiter showcasing the TacoBox, playing around on the short rock course, etc, here was my fuel mileage before topping off to hit the road. (Distance reported low due to my previous tank entered as a partial fill up.)

    IMG_3449.jpg

And after a hop jump and skip deep into the night...

    IMG_3454.jpg

...I made it safely to my hotel just before midnight (yeah, seriously, this scheduling was too much....and I'm the dummy who planned it out :facepalm:)

Let's play a quick game :broccoli:

Nathan taught me a rather interesting fact about the front end of his 2011 Tacoma. A unique Toyota feature only found on 2011 Tacoma's.

I'll send a $25 Marlin Crawler CRAWL Card to the first person other than @SMKYTXN  to reply to this thread with the correct answer!!

    And.................. go!
