Lol, you saying this is making me nervous. I have the dakars sitting outside as we speak and am looking up installation videos on youtube. ...And I don't know how to grease these things.:notsure:

I'm not sure how they are with 2nd gens or what options you have, but 1st gens have the option of getting greasable shackles/bushings with zerk fittings so you can pump grease into them occasionally to prevent squeaking. I went with the regular bushings and just put some grease on them prior to installing them, but it obviously didn't help much. So far the squeaking kind of comes and goes...tends to go away after driving around for a little bit but I'm sure it's going to get worse. Will have to swap out for the greaseable bushings sometime soon.

Installation is simple, but what ended up taking me forever was lining the bolts back up through the shackles and the hangar when I got the Dakars in. Make sure you have your truck parked on a perfectly level surface and the rear end is lifted up evenly...any flexing at all and the bolts will be a bitch to line up. Ratchet straps are your best friend during install for making them line up if you have to.

Thanks for the advise! Yeah I don't think my shackles are greasable, I'm going to install the springs with the stock hangers and shackles for now, but I have Archive hangers and fabbed shackles that are going to go in once I get everything else squared because I don't have the tools to take out the rivets and remove the rear hangers. That reminds me, I need to talk to @glorifiedwelder because he seems to be our resident guy with the tools and know-how with this stuff and I want to get some gussetted spindles.

I'll find you the link but they're 4 Cree LED lights, $60 on fleabay.

No wiring harness though which I overlooked, but I hooked them up into the Hella harness I already had wired in.

I actually think this is a great idea. I haven't had the truck anywhere near dark with all my new amber filters on.
