I finally found a dealer that could locate a Super White TRD4X4 Off Road with premium and tech. They said they could have it within 72 hours. It was equipped with all weather mats, black overlay package, paint protection (hood and door package), and predator step bar. Starting price was 42400. I was very excited I got them all the way down to 38000 +TTT. I then proceeded to tell them I would be writing a check for the truck and they said.....oh no! You have to finance with SETF in order to get that deep discount you received. I would need to finance for 75 months AT 7%!!!!!!!!!!! I told them to pound sand and hung up the phone (I needed to cool off). They blew my phone up with text messages all afternoon saying its not their fault, its Toyota's policy. I've never heard of such a thing. I'm very exhausted and discouraged. Anyway, I'm taking a break. Maybe I will try again tomorrow. Kevin.

Finance it and then turn and around and do a refi at your local credit union. They are making money off the interest rate.

Finance it, and pay it off at the first payment.

You will get a better deal by financing than paying cash. Just the way it works.

Visit the same fellow(s) and see if you get the same story. I’ve never heard of a dealership turning down a full payment either. If they ball again, let them know that the first dealer you find to meet the agreed terms without the financing will get the sale.

Take the deal and then pay it off. You were planning on writing a check for it anyway and the savings on the front end are well worth it...thats a very good price.

They make up the money from the interest. Make sure there is no penalty for paying the loan off early and take advantage of the deal.
Dealers actually prefer if you didn't pay cash. Less profit for them.

Just make sure there’s penalty for early payoff.

So finance it, leave the lot and go home and call SETF and ask where to send the final payment. If you were going to write a check anyway, this way you already made the deal, they can't take that away.

My dealer tried the same shit at the last minute. I stood up and calmly said "ok, no problem, I have the same deal at another dealer"...they cracked and I got the deal as written.

I don't think 38k isn't the best price. I bought two 2018s that stickered for 40k and out the door on each one for 35k including ttt.

Go with what people here are saying, you can pay off a loan without penalty ( check first ) but pretend to be upset and get something more thrown in like a bed mat.

I bought two Toyota and both times was in same situation. Had to finance in order to get a cash incentive. I put as much down as they would let me then paid it off the next month.

Check Toyota incentives and you'll know if they are BSing.

Also, make sure there's no provision where you can't pay it off early. Captqc is right

If they can locate it then so can you. Ask them for the dealer and that you would like to see in person before purchase. Then buy it from original dealer and tell yours to pound salt and sand at the same time! I wouldn’t think Toyota would have a policy like that. What business would not want your money up front?:notsure:

Make sure you can pay off the loan with a lump sum. There is usually a stipulation that you can't pay off for 6 months.

Except guys your fogetting the financing fees that can amount up to $1000 that you won't get back. I would be curious what they come up with for a intrest rate at full retail instead of the 7% and the big discount? A little math and thats gonna tell a story too........ya I would look at all of this and then start asking questions to see if they can be honest.
I sold trucks for Dodge for a few years and I can tell you never take the numbers they show you at face value. They are working an angle on you that your not seeing fully, get the above numbers I speak and do the math before you decide anything.....ask questions that they dont know you have the answers for already to test there honesty.......

Never ever pay for extended warrenty or life insurance/disability and what ever else they are trying to seperate you and your money with. All these thing are also shown to you at retail prices and you are able to get those costs reduced (should you want to buy those products) lots of money is made in this for the dealership. And dont think bumper to bumper extended warrenty is actually bumper to bumper, because its not my friends. Read the fine print.

Why would they tell you 7% before they ever pulled your credit? How do they know what the rate is going to be?

I guess I got lucky, I didn't know this but did pay off my loan on the first payment with no penalty, just whatever interest had accrued in the first week or 2.

Also, 7% is outrageous and why would they need a 75 month loan anyways?
