Weekly Photography Challenge Thread (see first post rules and then the poll at top before entering)

You could get a shot of a dandelion coming up through the cracks of some concrete. That would count, and if done right could be real cool.

Doug, I truly pity you if the only flowers around you are at the florist. To me, that is no way to live...

 

4 years ago in 2014 Murph won a week with a dandelion shot, damn fine one at that. I still remember it and easy enough to find.



2 weeks ago it finally broke 50 after 6 months. Flowers are in short supply around here right now LOL. Even dandelions let alone ones that have gone to seed head. But there are a couple, or at least should be.

Damn, that was 4 years ago?! I remember that one, too. Damn impressive!

Seen the first hummingbird of the year on Sunday Kevin. The warblers should be here soon, very soon

 

Nice! Yep, our yellow-rumps have all gone and the migrants are coming through. I've had a few Nashville Warblers pop up around San Diego, which I hadn't seen before. TONS of Wilson's, too.

 

I had to google what a warbler was.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen one before. Cool looking bird. I was hoping to get something for the last challenge but was working on cars all weekend. Have a couple red tails that have been nesting near us for a few years and thought it’d be cool to get a shot of them. Should be hearing the little ones soon I think.

Gonna try and get some flowers though. Not as cool as birds of prey but certainly easier to photograph.

 

This seems something cool to try. So when is the new photo challenge posted and what days does it run like sunday to sunday or just mon-fri ?

 

Deadline is always Sunday. New challenge usually gets posted on Monday, but sometimes later if people are slow.

I have a "fancy" camera, but no idea how to use it. Like others have said any camera will do. The more photos in here the better.

It's a slow process but I'm starting to figure out the manual settings. Just need to actually pull the camera out and take pictures...

 

Right there with ya. I’ll learn a bunch one day, get better, and then not shoot for a month and forget absolutely everything.

 

Same. But I guess if you take enough photos it becomes second nature. I'm just looking to take better than cell phone quality photos and then I'll be satisfied.

 

I’ve got night time long exposure mostly down. Only because I memorized all the settings to shoot at. I’m still working on daytime manual. I forget already what I need to adjust when it comes out “x” usually iso or aperture I think but I need to spend more time learning again
