Spend your money how ever you please. If it were me I would rather hit up a local shop or @Roostfactor for a new tank before I dropped that much coin.

So, you’ve all given me shit for Figs. Many of you just bought a radiator for something like the same price if I remember what I paid. Big vs little. The Figs is made when you order. I have no idea what that welder makes per hour, but I bet the margin isn’t that big. I’m betting radiator manufacturing is automated.

In my business I could charge something like lawyer rates for what I do if I was a consultant and not working for a company. It’s not that much money.

 

Very true. Hand crafted trade work has its costs. In my line of work it's the same thing. Just some light hearted ribbing here. They are sweet units.

 

For the record.....I never once made fun at your expense and in fact love the figs!!! So much that I want one...lol

I think your right about the radiator production being automated as well as parts of your sacred Figg being hand made. The top bead around the outer perimeter doesnt look hand made though.
It takes time and money to fabricate these things! Two aluminum hose fittings, drilling holes in proper locations, welding them up, machining the cap out of bullet, machining the cap threads, making and welding on the mount bracket with proper hole spacing, etc. It all adds up fast!

Thomas, you never said where or how the reservoir worked. The stocker has a little diaphram in the cap for expansion.

 

I don’t think comparing the rad to the figs is at all an apple to apple comparison. I’m not trying to give you shit for buying the figs. I’m sure it is a very high quality nice piece. For me, at its current pricepoint, I would rather sand down the barbs on the plastic tank to make them stop leaking as some have done, and use that $375 towards a killerchiller (or the Australian company, can’t remember their name but I think they use better parts) or a meth kit.

The figs is nice and it prevents the leaking which is good. I think maybe it would be a good buy if they were willing to do a groupbuy with a slight discount. Which I tried to email and ask about but I never heard back from them sadly.

 

Could I? Yes but to make an exact replica wouldnt be cost effective. I could make something similar that would have a radiator type cap instead of the bullet cap and that alone would save time and $$$

I have the capability to weld aluminum but would need more practice to feel comfortable making something for sale.
It's a lot different welding something up for a buddy for free than it is for a paying customer. No one wants to see crappy welds but the friend cant really complain while the customer can.

P.S. I absolutely have given @ThomasMore66 a fair amount of poop over his purchase. All in good harmless fun and hope he didnt take it seriously.
