...transmission shift points and ECU load? Compared to what?
Each day I am surrounded by tacos and they are faster than me any way... with a bad tranny and ECU software?

Go find a deserted road, stop, push your timer and floor it. If you reach 60 in about seven seconds or so then you are just as fast as the next guy. A lot of guys here can't even calculate their gas mileage or screw on a knob. But, there are some really smart guys here too.

What are you trying to say? Your post reads like English is your second language. There are questions and broken statements that make no sense. Start over and fill in the blanks or delete the whole thread.

    Me?
Reading the TW forums (tacoma Bible) I came across a lot of the early comments that late 2016 and early 2017 tacoma models have a "bad" transmission programming and a re-flash would help. Checking if/how many are/were affected and if re-flash helped.

1st model year had some issues. They basically have all been fixed in 2018. Toyota did the transmission reflash and CPS and siff weep and whine. That's about it.

What are you saying? You race against 2016 and 17s?

I had the TSB done (reflashed) and it helped the hunting when on the hwy. I have NEVER felt any issue with acceleration. I find when passing from 80kmh I am over 120kmh (50mph to 75) when I pull back into my lane and decelerate. It gets up and goes. Even from a stop I find I have to be gentle or I am buying tires early and throwing myself back in the seat.

I know some complain about a lag when flooring it. I think they are confusing the ecu thinking it has a fault. If they drove like normal it would just go and accelerate hard. I don’t know because I can only get the lag if I try to put my foot through the floor from a dead stop when trying to mimic others complaints. After the Toyota issues in the past with acceleration I bet this is simply a safety thing.

I had a 1-1.5 sec delay from reverse to drive when it was cold. Also, coming to a stop, my tranny would down shift fast and aggressively. Had the flash done, problem solved.

It’s a Tacoma... Our trucks aren’t super fast...
