wait you don't have them? The steel lines are way nice. You should get them if you don't, the stock rubber ones expand under pressure creating a loss of brake pressure.

This truck has way too many miles.

Sent a sample to Blackstone after an oil change, we’ll see how good or bad of condition the engine is on this thing after nearly half a million miles.

I should add how badly placed the oil filter is on the 5VZ. I thought the 3RZ filter placement was bad... but I can barely see the damn thing without shoving my head deep into the engine.

Could be just the 5-lug frame versus the 6-lug. Who knows.

At any rate, they’re both terribly placed.

nah not a great spot. But not bad on a 6 lug to stick you arm in the right spot and get it on or off. What does suck is the mess..freaking terrible no matter what.

Gotta go in through the drivers side fender well. It is a bad spot for sure.

I like the 3RZ placement better (and that’s saying something) because I can strategically position a catch pan under it. With the 5VZ I can’t predict where the oil is going to go, made a huge mess all over the cables and lines and frame after taking it off. I have a feeling it’s also the way the 5-lug frame is “tighter” than the 6-lug, like you said.

It’s not terrible, like I can get both arms in there. It’s just hard to get to.

This is the one thing the Germans got right. The oil filter on my E320 unscrews from the block and pulls off with ease making virtually no mess.

The best filter in the world is on 2nd gen 1grfe v6. Right up front and on top on the driver side. Even a catch for excess oil.

Anyone happen to know how long the differential drop bolts are that come in the kit? I’m too cheap to buy the kit..I have spacers, but the bolts I have are for 2nd-3rd gen trucks and they are shorter.

Happy to see Toyota adapted from their old ways, that's amazing.

There is a hex head plug next to what looks like an oil pressure sensor near the oil filter on the 5VZ. I'm tempted to unscrew it next oil change and see what's behind it. Will report back.
