I talked to a guy once who moved from Hawaii he was telling me how he rarely had milk and such, since moving to Nor Cal he says he feels like he eats like a king.

I'm with ya man I live in a resort town in Colorado. Prices are insane here for just about everything. Plus thousands upon thousands of people have been moving here in recent years (blame legal weed). Housing shortage is real, rent has doubled and the prices to buy are insane. $650K to buy a shitty two bedroom condo built poorly in the 60's or 70's, in a complex with no garage. Then you pay $200-500 a month in HOA's. I'll never be able to afford to buy a place here. It is beautiful though.

5k month good wage? Hmmmm, we all have different cost of living and situations so it's really hard to put a number on but that seems way low to me. Higher than average, yes, but good?

This is exactly how I feel about living in San Diego. I pay around 1600 for a 1br apartment :annoyed:

One more year then I’m out of here.

I have no debt, no kids, no mortgage, one vehicle and make more than most people my age (28). I just don't desire extravagant things.

"You can't take it with you"
    "You deserve a reward"
    "You only live once"
    "It's only money"

Very few of the people I've heard this shit from could go 2 weeks without their income. People call me cheap as if it's an insult, I call myself financially secure.

The reality is we're getting over populated, anywhere you'd actually CHOOSE to live is gonna be expensive. There's probably a few hidden gems left but i'd get there sooner than later and before everyone else.

I’m currently taking 17 units to get out of here as fast as possible. It’s insanely over populated here. Insane housing prices and no housing available.

I'd advice everyone to read 'The Millionaire Next Door". You'll come to find out most people in the expensive cars/house are poor poor poor.

Try building a late model Wrangler.

Upgrading to prebuilt One Ton axles from Currie or the rebrand Mopar stuff will set you back 15K alone. Not including links, coilovers, HD steering with Hydraulic ram assist, 40-42" tires at 600 bucks a tire (x5, cause spare should be matchy matchy and sunk into the cargo area so you don't drop off a ledge and rip it off.) Even then, you haven't spent thousands on cage, armor, lighting, controls, OBA, and various other gadgetry. Then once you have all that nailed down, you have to get a Hemi Swap or LS Swap performed for trail cred...

When close to "finished", you have a 100K Jeep...

These posts go to shit with the "I use credit wisely vs. youre a fool and I paid cash" crowds. Do what works for you, that doesnt put you in a negative place, go at a pace you can manage.

No one has the right answer, it's all opinion.

Well, it will be worse for the JL guys getting the new model or worse yet, the JL truck that is coming out this next year.

Average price for a 2018 JLUR is around 50-55k and up. The truck version is going to be silly...
