Well in Canada, if you hit a pedestrian, it's your fault. TSS or not.

Unless it's some crazy bum, and there are witnesses. Our insurance rules are crazy. If you are in a collision because someone stops short or cuts you off and technically you rear ended them, good luck trying to say it's not your fault. Even with witnesses.

TSS would be classified as collision avoidance. It's no classified as prevention. I'm sure Toyota takes care of themselves so they won't be blamed for accidents.

I posted a pic yesterday of our local dealer selling an offroad with a spacer lift installed. Not sure if they adjusted TSS but doubtful. When I question the $1000 price tag on a cheap spacer lift, the sales guy said it was fully covered by warranty because they did the install. SMH

Canada? Oh well in that case no clue on the warranty my friend. The 2019 TRD Pro for Canada comes equipped with a snow plow instead of a snorkel :D

Yeah, that's my point. The dealers are shady. But this is also SET and they do some funky stuff.

Just FYI for anyone following along these topics....

    1) The above-referenced dealer with the I-25 customs program no longer lifts 2018s as of ~9/20/2018 bc of the TSS issue. If you bring them a 2017 or earlier they will, etc. but no-go on 2018s. Same was true of the dealership in Glenwood, CO, will not do it. Seems there is high variation among dealerships on their policies and how quickly or completely they adopt toyota’s recommendations, etc. As evidenced by....

    2) My local dealer (Grand Junction) says they will lift 2018s now again (9/25/2018) because of a Toyota bulletin from about a month ago that apparently gave them instructions to adjust the TSS for the more convenience-oriented features (e.g. cruise control) but disable it for the more high stakes sensitive ones (I.e. pre-collision avoidance braking, etc.)... so their policy is back to the usual of modifications that are directly linked to a problem-area might jeopardize warranty but only when directly linked, blah blah blah

Sorry for the delay...no vibrations, but I do feel like it darts a little in road ruts. I plan on putting new UCA’s that will eleviate that issue. Same thing occurred on my previous 4th gen 4Runner, used total chaos uppers and the symptom went away.

With the stock UCAs you lose caster when you lift which causes the dartiness (is that a word?). Adding new longer aftermarket control arms solves the issue allowing the proper caster numbers. The issue with the aftermarket UCAs is the quality. They don't last as long as the OEM. Upper ball joint replacement is a rare thing for a Tacoma but common with the replacement UCA. Too bad someone won't use the Toyota BJ in their arms.

I also bought from Comox and they had the complete opposite opinion on lifting my truck. They said it would void the warranty. I’ve tried calling around to Nanaimo and no such luck. Pretty choked actually because I didn’t know they were so strict TIL after a week after I purchased the truck and I had inquired about doing mods to the truck.

Strange. It definitely won't void warranty. I think they are just trying to push people into the pro line it they want a lift.

Actually it will void the warranty. Toyota does not want their trucks lifted and any issues with TSS that results in an accident they will wash their hands of it. That being said the dealerships that do lifts make a ton of coin from doing the mod and will get the warranty claim through. Many dealerships will get customers to sign a disclaimer stating that they are not responsible for damages on the lifted vehicle. Not sure if that would hold up in court.

C0BAB9CE-7F7C-40F1-A3F5-6420A8F64951.jpg Hi all just bought a 2019 trd sport 2wd. The dealer sold me it with 3” spacer lift TRD Pro rims 285’s and some other extras. They told me they’d fully honor the warranty. Huntington Beach CA.
I’m thinking of doing a maxtrac 6.5 spindle/fox coilover lift combo and I’m wondering if anyone knows of any issues I may run into, and how much of the warranty will be voided? TIA
