Don't know how it happened but I have a chip in my rear window. It's only noticeable cause it's white and the rest of the window is tinted. It's a small spot but it's noticeable. How should I repair this. Would one of those window repair kits at least cover it so it's not noticeable anymore? Any suggestions? Thanks!

So the chip is on the inside?

Are you speaking factory or aftermarket tint?

If it's on the outside, have you tried cleaning it with a bit of compound, just to see if that would clear it up a little?

It's on the outside. I haven't tried using compound. Actually never thought of that. If I can just get it darker that would help.

If it doesn't clean up with compound. Try to clean it with rubbing alcohol, if you can still see it. Dab it with a black sharpie , and then if you want a dab of super glue. Razor blade it flush.

I can tell you that if the window breaks and needs replacement, it’s like $500 for the entire rear assembly plus installation. If just the slider window breaks that can be replaced individually, otherwise you have to buy the whole assembly. Don’t ask me how I know…

I hope it doesn't get to that point.
