I get asked usually "which stage Icon set-up is that" quickly followed by "how much did it cost"

My typical answer is that I exist solely on a diet of Ramen noodles and Alpo dog food

All credit cards are 0% interest when paid off each month. When I was younger, I had bad debt like probably most people will at some points in their lives. You can either work to eliminate that bad debt or live with bad debt the rest of your life. It's worth it to do the former and work hard at your credit score. It will serve you well. I'm not saying I don't have debt, but it's not credit card debt which is really the worst at the interest rates they charge.

If you do have credit card debt, you should be paying AT LEAST twice the minimum due if not more. If you pay that minimum you're going to be paying a TON for that debt.

If I'd have known, I'd have played...................

But now the jig is up
On July 22, 2011 the U.S. Mint posted this on their website:

"The Mint has determined that this policy change is prudent due to ongoing activity by individuals purchasing $1 coins with credit cards, accumulating frequent flyer miles, and then returning coins to local banks."

Agreed. As long as they also have no annual fee.

Then various perks can have real value.

Tip. If you like to travel internationally, there are a small number of cards that will not charge a transaction fee for an international purchase. (A transaction fee is a % of the purchase, a different thing than the exchange rate, and card issuer profit). Also, you may be asked if you want to pay in local currency or US. Always select local. Your carrier will do the exchange rate accurately for that day. If you select US, it will be done on the spot, by that country's bank, for a fee.

Although my truck isnt "tricked out" or anything; i do have a few mods. I have found that buying second hand is the way to go for me.

3rd Gen OR suspension- $200 and sold off the stuff i took off and didnt use. So now it cost me $110 and still have the leaf springs in the garage to sell or keep.
    TRD Skid- $75
    Bed Mat - $35
    Factory fogs - $40
    Intermittent wiper stalk - $50
All bought used and in perfect shape. Just gotta keep your eyes open and have patience.

Yup, my card does have a fee, but it's recouped by the benefits provided by the card including no foreign transaction fees.

Worked my ass off for a lot of years 20% house down sitting in a separate account doesn’t get touched. Outside of the minimal truck payment for the Tacoma we live 100% debt free.

Pay cash for everything and just tell the wife it cost 50% of what it truly did.

We drive iPhones...everyone makes some sort of gadget for them and those gadgets are all overpriced. If you didn't know this before you purchased your Taco and are now questioning how people can afford the gadgets for their Tacos, you need to sell your Taco and go buy something else.

I think about this all the time! idk how some people afford their builds at the rate they do! suspension setup 1 > armor > accessories > suspension setup 2 > regear and lockers > 35's > supercharger > rtt > trailer build > 37's etc etc.

I built my truck with the help of friends which helps on labor cost. (i always try to give something, at least a case of beer or something) Also I get to learn from them which is awesome!

USED PARTS! Almost all of the parts on my vehicle, including big ticket items were used. that's how i've been able to build my rig personally.

Used parts are great! I got most of my suspension and armor and stuff for my Xterra from people moving from lifted IFS to SAS, etc. $1500+ suspension system for $250. Stuff like that makes it a lot easier to swallow the cost.

Keep in mind the post dates on some of the build threads, some of those crazy ones are over like 7 years.

If you pay off your credit cards it's like paying cash with a bonus. But I just like paying cash that's my thing. No bills to worry about. Credit score low but what I care.
