One of the handful of things I miss about my 2nd gen. Could literally change the oil and not spill a drop every time.

That... and comfy seats, cruise control, etc. The dark side is way cooler though.

Factory is about 7” so with a one inch spacer 8”? I had to go standard for the size cause nobody in town had a metric bolt in a high enough grade that size.

That’s interesting. I wonder how much power is running through it.

Who provides your internet and cell service out in the field?

You had to post this after I bought heated 4Runner mirrors. Great.

What Hilux did they come out of? I never knew I needed something so badly until now. I looked into it and the Hilux Tiger/Surf has the same mirror housings as us, but I can’t find one with those lights.

Ah salary. I remember the initial pitch “yeah, you’ll have some longer work days but some days you’ll be able to cut out early so it works out in the end.”

I’ll say this, I had an easier time sticking both my arms into the engine to grab it. I can’t do that on the 3RZ. But I prefer the 3RZ because I know where the oil will comeback out from. It’s also a 5-lug frame v. 6-lug frame item.

I'm paid by the hour and I'm doing 80 hours a week right now. That's illegal but I don't mind more truck parts.

That isn't the deal with the state. I have worked over 13 months extra in the last 4 years. no pay. no extra pay. no comp time. and Public sector pays 1/3 of private sector. But, i get to help fish not hurt them.

since when is that illegal? 80 hour weeks is standard in the oil field I worked in. 12 hour days 7 days a week. Usually ends up 14 hours. In the other field you could pull 18s or 20s even.

Most only do 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off though. I was 3 months straight though.

But you can retire earlier with a pension and you get to be outdoors it sounds like? Not a bad compromise.

No. Colorado pension was and is being gutted and state doesn't pay into social security. State jobs are not what they used to be. Older folks had it good. My generation is better off in private sector. I DO get to spend a good deal of time outside.

All this talk of salary and hourly lol ... I'm 'hourly' up to 40 hrs a week. Basically salaried as long as I work 40. If its under 40 then I get less pay over 40 is same as 40 :annoyed: I really need a new job considering I normally work 7 days a week and have at least 55-60 hrs in a normal week, some weeks I've had over 90 hrs. If I got paid over time my truck would be paid off, modded very much, house be getting double payments or more .. but oh well:sadviolin::rain:
