Yea, any size container works as long as the plastic is thick enough to withstand the abuse and can be completely sealed, i.e., screw off cap. I use to use the water bottle too but emptying a little bit of water out of each of them is tedious. I prefer the quart size jugs now. Those Turkey Hill Ice Tea ones work great. Plus you can mix the ice tea with flavored vodka!

I tell ya, 40 bucks for this vs 90 bucks for the OEM pro knob, for me. I would go this route first. Oddly, I was reading the aluminum gets hot in the sun? Not sure how but I suppose it's possible. The same guys say it gets cold in the winter. 1st world problems I guess.

Sure, I'll shoot you my email address there. That would be the best way to communicate. Ultimately, if we need to talk on the phone I am not opposed to that either.

So on my end you just need dimensions, correct?

Yea, I mean, I will start with that and we can go from there. I can even draw it in 3D, which takes a little longer but is cooler to look at on paper.

The only true benefit of having it digitally is if you need to make changes. I can update a cad file quicker than making manual changes to a piece of paper. It looks cleaner too. I mean, don't get me wrong. People have built a lot of things from sketches drawn on the back or bar napkins for centuries. Just one of those things that I do and wanted to offer you guys. You might decide it was not beneficial at all.

If you have the dimensions of the bed of the truck though, then we can tweak things to fit exactly as many times as it takes first on paper to save money with trial and error in real life.

It's not like going to HD and designing a kitchen layout though. It's all manual drafting on the computer but I can also add text for material and parts lists, etc.

Here's an example of what I mean.

A buddy here at work that rides mountain bikes and his crew wanted to build a bridge in the woods. They gave this sketch:

    upload_2018-5-9_12-13-22.jpg

    And this parts list:

    upload_2018-5-9_12-18-35.jpg

The yellow text and dimensions above on their original sketch are what I added that were needed to adjust things to after drawing this in cad and finding there were discrepancies with the sketch.

Here is what I gave them back:

    upload_2018-5-9_12-17-0.jpg

So with this they could go and buy the lumber and hardware and hump it intot he woods and build this on site. This is a serious structure designed to support horses as well and hikers and bikers.

The best part about is, it's digital and can be reproduced or shared as many times as needed more easily than any conventional method.
