    Always need mods! :)
Picking up a Tacoma AccessCab from a friend who is upgrading. I'm a Toyota guy from waaaaaay back - I had an '86 and then a 93 extra cab when those were fairly new model years. :) More recently, my modification itch has been scratched with my 02 Trans Am that I've done way too much work to. :)

This new truck needs tires, and we're taking advantage of that with some small updates right away:
    - looking at a 3" leveling lift
    - replace stock 16" wheels (what specs are good for 17" with a little more width?)
    - replace with the largest non-rubbing rubber we can get under there.

Already finding a lot of good information here - thank you all for that! :)

Plenty mods on many vehicles since 1982. Current: 15 Tacoma 4X4 V6 TRD OR Access Cab Pyrite Mica- Icon full stage 7, All-Pro APEX sliders & rear Expedition Springs + custom Tampa Springs leaf spring upgrades, Timbren bump stops, u-bolt flip, Road Armor front stealth winch bumper & rear steel, Warn Vr 8000, Nitto Terra Grappler 285/75/r16, Off Grid Engineering Dual Battery system, SPod 6 switch, 2 pairs Rigid D2 spot & flood in bumper, ARE Expedition Cap, bedglide,Tru Cool 45K GVW add on transmission cooler, Re-gear to 4.56, rigid rear bumper floods, scan guage II, rigid ditch lights. full size spare on matching factory wheel, seat mods/insert, CB w/magnet mount.
3” lift? Max 33” without cutting. Maybe have to hammer some and trim plastic and liners but just pocket knife stuff, no major work: 285/75/r17 check specs as there are some slight differences between brands relative to diameter and tread depth and I think width within the “same size” tires. At least this is my experience with 2nd gen. I’m running Nitto Terra Graplers. 285/75/r16’s. I’m looking for two wheels that match mine if you’re selling the take off wheels! Aluminum TRD stock?
