Yeah I have read through all the factory "big" brake upgrades and compared all the #s of thickness of rotor, dia., piston size, pad surface area, etc and this is the largest. Now if someone could come up with a tundra rear brake kit that didn't total over a grand once all the parts were bought that would be cool!

Then there are other upgrades with some tundra brakes and stuff that work with 16" wheels that give you a thicker rotor and a hair more dia. and a little bit more caliper piston dia. If you are having issues with brake fade and overheating them the key is the ability to absorb that heat and dissipate it. The larger thicker rotors can absorb more heat before having issues and a lot of the aftermarket rotors will have a slightly different cooling vane design that can dissipate heat quicker and more efficiently than the stock stuff.

It's easy enough to run a wire to the engine bay along the frame rail.

PSA if your truck is having issues starting similar to a dead battery check your battery cable connections. I got a call from a friend that said his battery keeps checking good but keeps having to get jumped and acts like it's dead. I go over there today with my DVOM to check for current draw. Well his cable end needed repaired and wasn't clamping the battery terminal tight enough for a good connection. Everything checked out fine. Just remember KISS, sometimes overthinking the problem and not checking the basics leads you down the wrong path.

Rear brakes adjusted correctly can be more of an improvement than replacing front brakes.

Using your parking brake will help keep them adjusted.

Amen because 99% of the time they are out of adjustment and the F brakes are doing even more work than normal! I may need to adjust mine :anonymous:

There is a rubber plug on the backing plate pop that thing out and take a screw driver and rotate the star wheel so you hear the clicks adjust them till there is a slight drag on the drum good go! Or make the trip and go see Adam!
