With practice you'll get there. I used to hate downshifting. Now I get it right 90% of the time. The other times are when it's cold.

Yeah. The problem that I see there is that it isn't predictable that I can tell. Sometimes it will hang where doing seemingly the same thing, it won't hang. I'd prefer it gone, but if it has to be there stock, make it predictable.

I have been racing cars for almost all of my life. I have driven at VIR, Irwindale, MSR, COTA, and the Nurburgring. I know how to rev match. Its not me its the truck.

I also get a weird delay once in a blue moon. I'll get into gear and accelerate quickly and it takes a second to get up and go.

The big Diesel semis at work have better throttle feedback and no rev hang unlike the Taco.

Apparently OVTune fixes this issue. I would want to drive a truck that has it installed to be sure before i drop the $700 for it.

I'm not saying you don't know how to do it. i'm saying, with practice with "THIS TRUCK" you'll get there. I feel like I had to relearn a few things with this truck.

I don't think anyone is saying that you can't downshift properly. It's just that the Taco, the stupid accumulator, and the stock tune make things weird sometimes.

Ive been daily driving this truck for over a year now and I dont even attempt to rev match anymore. Its too unpredictable and frustrating.

I'll also get an annoying clunk once a month when engaging the clutch. I'll feel that clutch is engaging and let the rest of the pedal out nice and smooth and will still get a clutch pop/jerk.

I quit paying attention to OVT a couple months back. I, personally, can't get on board with the way that it is being handled. Things might have changed since, but I gave up even monitoring the threads.

There was someone else that came online and was doing a much more realistically priced tune in ordination with dyno-shops. I wanted to reach out to that person (has similar cred in the industry to OVT) to see if any local shops were working with him. Basically, all that I want is a rev hang delete, close the throttle plate more (or shut off atkinson if that is the issue) while engine braking, and any modest power bump esp near the bottom end would be icing on the cake but not a requirement.

Will do. The guy's name was posted in the MT or Alpha thread. I think it was a FB screenshot and he was out of Philly.

    Are you in the PNW?

Nope! Just in Arizona, but wouldn't mind doing a roadtrip for that type of benefit!

    Same here!!

I also am not too thrilled about the way OV Tune is handling things. It seems like he has poor customer communication and takes forever with getting things out to customers in what is essentially a monopoly right now.

I'd bet that there would be a local shop that could make it happen.

Exactly, plus the fact that OVT asked what MT owners wanted in the OP. Engine braking / DFCO and rev hang were repeatedly requested. It was never once replied to while I was looking.
