    Need to update this sucker......

Diff kerplosion #2 at AOP 4/20/2018. Great weekend, had fun. got there Thursday after lunch, wheeled a good bit Thursday. Friday mid day, after getting through 41, we were on 96 I think it was........, KA-POW, click, click, click. Ring and pinion. This ring and pinion that blew was a 4.56 nitro from ECGS about a year and a half from the stocker kerplosion / replacement. (ECGS is great, warranty fix, no out of pocket for me, other than break in, and gear oil swap) Wasnt doing anything too nasty, but nasty enough I guess.

Hindsight, I did have some warning signs.......had a random grumble for several weeks / maybe 6 weeks, in the rear end at quick takeoffs. I remedied that noise by doing medium / low speed takeoffs......:facepalm:Also had some serious takeoff vibes, that are gone now. I was contemplating shimming the axle, etc.

I think this is the spot where it happened

and now, the rest of the story ..... (Paul Harvey, RIP)

So after the kerplosion, @Trident904 pulled me through with his awesome kinetic strap. I need one of these. No shocking tugs, just a really smooth tug all the way through. Thank you for the smooth tuggy tug tug. This was after he #sentit up through the nastiness, bouncing and getting after it. he bent his chevy 63's at that point i believe. Had a difficult time getting through the next obstacle up around the bend, a really nasty deep rocky mud covered hole with a mountain side drop off next to it. He got me through it after a couple attempts. THANK YOU ! the rest of the gang had to winch through that spot, and it took them a while to clear it and get down to camp. Once we cleared, we unhooked and I limped down the mountain at .25 MPH. slow rollin, and clicking the whole way. luckily it didnt lock up on the way down. Got down to camp, and Thank you @EddyRRT for having the foresight to bring the floor jack on this trip, such a great help this time for sure. By the time the fellers made it down, I had the truck jacked, tires off, abs sensors and brake lines freed up, elocker off, driveshaft dropped etc. getting good at this  SO we got the third pulled and the ring gear off, and put back on, filled with lube, good to go right? nah, no such luck. The dam elocker was engaged still. On way to hotel friday night, I was chirping around every corner. Get up Sat am, drive to gas station for daily rations, and get a flat on the way to gas station. high lift and change out tire at gas station. get back to camp, pull third again, and make sure the locker fork was in the right position. so yeah, we pulled it twice on this trip

Drive home in front wheel drive, and ECGS fix that thursday. Got my 500 miles in by Sat am, changed oil, and went to URE Sunday :headbang:

You broke in those new gears in right! Wish I had been able to make AOP though. Looked and sounds like great time.

You and tires. I think you need some bead locks or do what the drag racers and just screw the beads to the wheels, and then safety wire your lugnuts!
