@mesojdm, did you use the tube for the drl or just mount the led strip behind the white part?

I used the clear tube but cut 1" sections out of it to hold the LED strips in different places.

Have you determined best way to seal the housings up? If so, did you use 270 degrees for 10 minutes again or a different temp and time?

lastly, for someone who has never taken headlight housings apart, but has done lots of work on his own vehicle, do you think this is a task I could handle? All I really want to do is upgrade the drl like you did and maybe do the quad (still working on that)

He is not making these to sell. They were being made for a friend. He only posted for for show and tell. He has made a few other sets that were for sale (4 total I think). He is in to deep with "gasshole's" and his new grom to be up to date with this project.

From what I see in the thread, to break even, based on manhours and materials, they'd be in the 3K+ per headlight set. That doesn't include any profit.
I don't know many people willing to pay that much just for headlights.

I think he meant the GassHoles...

This project/thread is definitely a love and not a moneymaker. He's got so many man-hours and top end products in it, it would be cost prohibitive to sell as a business model.

I am a noob to real projectors vs oem vs what comes in after market housings, but is there a night and difference appearance from the Morimoto D2S 4.0 to other projectors? I have these head light housings and I think the lighting is fine (for most part), but the Morimoto D2S 4.0 are $320 which is almost what i paid for the set of housings.

I do plan to copy mesojdm and upgrade the drl's with the flex led's, but since I'll have them apart I wanted to know if it the cost for the Morimoto D2S were really worth it

I'll leave it to the experts to qualify the specific product you are asking about, but in general quality optics are expensive. The QC and precision standards make it so. This applies to anything from eyeglasses to binoculars or telescopes. Precision electronics are also costly. I'd imagine the quality difference from stock is the reason for the costs. Although this logic doesn't explain Yeezies...

No the logic makes sense and I assume they are better for certain, but I guess I'm trying to discern how much better. I would love super bright headlights that are not blinding other drivers and if these did that I'm all over it lol

I’ve been focusing on other mods lately, but had some time to start buttoning these up. This is more of fun/casual build. Call it my canvas.
No deadline, no budget, no regrats.

    LOL... No REGURTS?

I figured it was low on the list, but I didn’t think the ‘love of the craft’ would let you stay away that easy. An interesting note from the pic - the low looks centered, but the high seems like it is low. But if you ignore the openings, you can see that they are actually level to each other. Which makes you then realize the backend openings aren’t level/equal. Considering I don’t think you adjusted this in the mount/mod design...wonder why.
