Just like a condom, does no good if you leave it in the box.

Doesn't work if you put it on and wear it for three months before you actually get to use it, either.

    So I've heard.

I don't have one, but doesn't it get its pressure from adding the water?

Holy shit - I have that exact ottoman in my office. It pulls out to a single bed. Mine doesn't have wheels on it because who puts wheels on an ottoman?

    Next question:

So I definitely want to get an RTT. I see Chandler'sDoom has that hardshell RTT GB for $1700.
So far these are the pros and cons:

Pluses are, super easy setup and take down, better performance in wet or snow weather. Easier to stow bedding.

Cons are: size, smaller that medium to large size RTTs, no annex options.

But at $1700, with used RTT's being sold much cheaper, can anyone help me out on what makes those PRO's so much better?

I'd be using it either on top of my LC/Tacoma bed rack, or on a trailer.

    That's a great price for a hardshell.

Hardshells are easier to setup/takedown than softies but you can stow bedding in either one.

I won't do a hardshell for the simple fact that most won't fit on a shortbed without extending over. I think the exception might be the iKamper. Most hardshells are the length of the bed, whereas soft shells are the width. I have a queen size mattress on my shortbed.

The annex is overrated. I never use mine. Too much trouble. However, the overhang is very nice, but make sure to get one that is self supported. Mine has to be staked down or the wind will blow it back on to the tent. @riz_atx has a CVT that has a brace which locks it into place.
