Schecter517's Margot the Autobot Transformer Build

Hello Everyone,

Long time Tacoma fan here! Loved these trucks for as long as I can remember. Since the thought of driving came into my mind as a kid Toyota trucks were always my number one. My parents had them growing up so I have lots of great memories going on camping trips in them. So it made sense to me when it came time to purchase my first truck straight out of high school. This is my 4th Toyota truck and 3rd taco. First truck was a 1985 pick up 4 speed with the 22R. Best little truck ever! Drove it through out hs and for a little after. Once it came time to move on from that truck, my first taco was a 2003 SR5 Extra cab 4 banger 2WD. Loved it! That truck went with me everywhere! From California to Arizona and back. That little truck was a champ. Unfortunately, an accident ended her life and it was time for a newer truck. So I bought a 2007 DCSB SR5 2WD, which I had for 4 years and in that time it turned into a great looking truck and had lots of adventures in it. But the only issue that I had with it was that it was not 4x4. So after some hard thinking, weighing the pro's and con's on buying a newer truck, I decided to sell it and get a 4x4. I ended up buying a new to me 2014 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 last October. Since then I have slowly but surely made her my own. I decided to go with 4x4 the second time around on account that I do like to do some wheeling and I do a lot of desert trips during the winter months. So the 4x4 has already come in handy quite a few times. My 07 was great but I got stuck a lot and was just over it. Glad I made the decision to switch. Most of the mods I have done aren't anything crazy, pretty much just getting the truck to look how I want it to. I do have more mods planned for the future, but I'm not sure if I want to go crazy on the "rock crawler" look. Still figuring out if I want to make this truck a full off road toy or not. I hope you all enjoy my build, as I will update this thread as time goes on so all of you can enjoy this build journey as it unfolds!

Coil springs and leaf packs will be arriving tomorrow so I'm hoping to do the install this weekend!

 

Great Tacoma! How are the Wildpeaks wearing on highway use??? Got 500 miles on mine and hope they wear good over the next year or so!

 

Thanks! I don’t do much highway driving. I think I do a total of 3 miles a day of freeway haha but I just did the 5K rotation yesterday and they seem to be wearing nice and even.

I haven't installed the lift yet. I will be this Saturday though. I will post up new pics and how she rides once its all done.

5100’s with Eibach coils and Wheelers off-road 3 leaf progressive pack in the rear. 2.5” of lift total and I love it!!

 

Did you leave the overload leaf in? Truck looks great!

 

Thanks! No I didn’t. I took it out.

 

Installed the lift yesterday and I love the look and ride. The coils make a huge difference so it’s not stiff. Pretty smooth actually and even with the 265’s it looks damn good.
