    Not that day. Its on public land so i am suprised the camera hasn't been stolen yet. At least its somewhat inexpensive but takes great pics.

    Well fellas it finally happened this morning after nearly 2 weeks straight on public land. This is also my first turkey ever and I couldn't be happier. I did take a shot early in the season and ended up being a clean miss so needless to say I was pretty bummed about it because these are educated birds so I figured surly I had my chance and blew it and wouldn't get another until next year. So I decided to keep after it and started to learn their routine. So this morning I ended up getting in the woods late and soon as I made my call he was hammering right from the get go. At that point I knew he wanted to play and all I had to do was stay cool don't get to aggressive with the call and sure enough he wound up in my lap at 20 yards and the rest is history.

    Soooo got my bird all cut up and ready for dinner tonight. For the numbers he weighed in at 16lbs with a beard length of just over 9" with spurs measuring just over 1". Overall for my first turkey I'm definitely very happy.
