lol...same thing happened to my friend in Pismo...his suby kept cutting the power no matter what we did it just wouldn't send power to the wheels even if he selected different trains on his multi train select. We did little bit of research when we were there and it basically boils down to pulling the fuse for ABS. That is why I was saying earlier that Subaru should add at least a button to turn the traction control off if user chooses to do so.

Just like my VSC. Had to make a switch to interrupt it to turn it off. Really helps in Pismo and in snow.

I got VSC, but we can turn that off. Maybe not because your in a 4 runner?

I imagine a complete ABS killswitch is a liability?

I know turning my VSC off doesn’t turn off my abs cuz she be whining of them steep, slippery hills.

Abs killswitch is on my todo list, hoping this come back in stock sometime soon

    https://www.aironboard.com/online/p...ta-oem-replacement-abs-off-led-green-red.html

I like the OEM look and using the factory button location, in between my VSC switch & Air bag switch. Aka my “shits getting real, turn these off”panel

The simplest reason is cost. The way I see it is that solution is relatively simple to rectify, get a vehicle that has a switch vs bellyaching about it. The upside is that your friend learned two valuable lessons:

    1. don't believe the sales guy
    2. machines and drivers have limitations, now he's aware of them.

I've never been on slickrock (hopefully this summer) but sourgrass is mostly stockish friendly but there are two spots which can give you issues. First time out, a stock 3rd gen DCLB made it past the water section but did get caught on the way back out (granted it was dark and probably could've chosen a better line). last time I was there, the water crossing section was moving faster and a little deeper than the first time I went out there, not sure how well a stock truck would do without hitting a few things

    from the other side

There's always eagle lakes. can definitely do that in a stock truck.

    HAHA love the animations.

Sounds like the motorcycle Oregon trip for the eclipse I was in. Had to find a way to remove my rear wheel to tighten up some loose sprocket bolts. Ended using the plywood that stablized the load on my seat to hold the bike up and two other riders balancing the bike. Thank god KTM comes enough tools to remove your wheel.
