Finally got around to installing Hikari LED high/low beams. Question for those in the know. Does it matter if the bulbs rotate past the vertical up & down position to seat properly? Both high beams are that way, right side worse than left. Is the beam pattern affected by this position?

This has been the case for everyone so far on the high beams. I forget who it was that originally modified the bulb to make sit perfectly at 3 and 9. I believe @RobP62 may have done this also.

As far as affecting the performance, I don’t think it affects it enough to notice. Mine are that way and the light output is perfectly fine, but I’m using the Hikari Cree XP50 in my high beams.

Not me, it was @mrproduxn that re-indexed the bulb first I believe back at post #2396. I know someone else did it too. Maybe @ToyoDrew ?

If you go back to my post #2371 I show pics of how everything was before I adjusted the headlights and fogs and then after raising them.

I've also posted what the beam pattern looks like with the highbeams on but here it is again.

I really am not seeing any discrepancies here but maybe it's just me

    20180331_211245.jpg

That is the untouched photo and here is the same photo that I have post processed to reduce the intensity to help clearly define the beam pattern better

    20180331_211303.jpg

Its definitely less light on the right hand side but not that bad. If I was more confident I would do the correction.

Here is how it looks in the woods though.

    20180407_205435.jpg

Looks smooth and clean to me.

since i got flamed a little bit by getting some LED's folks on here weren't too familiar with i thought i'd check with everyone first. what are you guys recommending for LED interior lights? i ran them in my old vehicle and they were great for about 2 months before they would start flickering. i bet i replaced them on average every 3 months. i'm looking for more stability. the stock bulbs don't put out enough light.

    thanks in advance!

here's the ones i used previously - would NOT recommend (doesn't look like they'd fit anyway)

here's the ones i'm looking at. can someone verify if these will fit, and if they're recommended?

Installed Supernova V.3 LED headlights this evening. https://headlightrevolution.com/201...ow-beam-headlight-bulb-upgrade-supernova-v-3/

The light output is a little less than I expected but it's about the same as stock. I really like the white tone it puts out versus the stock yellow look. These were super easy to install because it required no tools unless you want to unbolt the windshield washer fluid container for easier access. I recommend these to anyone looking to get rid of the stock yellow lights while keeping it easy to install.

These aren't the best pictures because my phone struggled to focus on the lights but they get the point across.

I have the supernova V.3 in my lows as well with the Hikari Philips in my HB. Not real impressed with the supernova's. Also, when installing, I apparently did not have one of them inserted correctly at first, and when I twisted the bulb, I shaved off one of the three prongs. It's holding in place fine, but I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep them installed. May move to the Hikari's for LB eventually.

Hey, Jones thanks a lot for sharing and following Rob's suggestion. You will find that a lot of tests get done on this thread to determine the best-LED bulb on the market. To date, we have all concluded that it seems that Hikari Phillips Lumiled are the best for the projector housings and are only $90 USD for the USA.

Which was going to lead me to my next question, but it seems that Martin here already kinda answered it for me.

@Martin_Z Since you already have the Supernova and the Hikari Phillips would you be interested in doing a comparison of the two in the LB's. I'm not willing to pay the $130 to test those right now so if you could that would be awesome.

I've been meaning to do that, but just haven't gotten around to it. I should be able to do that this weekend. I'll let you know when I can

What’s up man!! So as for the interior bulbs I’ve always had good success with super bright led. They’ve never failed me.

Honestly though my recommendation would be hold out for @mesojdm custom interior led lighting you’ll never have problems with it.

I’ve got the ULTIMATE combo and its freaking sick and one of a kind.

I'd love to have those, but wasn't wanting to spend that much. do you have a link to the ones you recommend on Amazon?

The ones I recommend are from https://www.superbrightleds.com/ they aren’t from Amazon. I’m sure there are some good options on amazon, but I feel you may run into that same issue of flickering and the bulbs dieing.

They are not available on Amazon. The pair they initially sent me were janky. I was going to give them another chance.
