The love of my life is having Iodine Radiation Therapy after having her Thyroid removed. The doctors discovered tumors on my wifes thyroid last July. After moving to Germany she went to the doctor hear with a really sore throat, they did an ultra sound and verified that they needed to remove it. So four weeks ago they went in and removed the thyroid, about two days later they came back and said that there was cancer. So she went in this Friday to have Iodine Radiation Therapy done to kill off all of the remaing cells. She will be in the hospital until Thursday. Problem is I am deploying to Afganistan for a year and my flight window is any where from Wednesday to the following Monday. I am sure hoping that I get to see her before I have to leave for a year.

My mother went through this in the early 70s. She had to do it again in 1988 when her thyroid began to grow back. I remember not being able to go in her room in the hospital. We had to sit in the hallway and talk to her through the door.

Wishing her a quick recovery, you are in my thoughts.
