Huh - thanks for bringing that up.

My credit score suffers because I don't have enough trade lines open, maybe a nice promo card would help that.

I was just thinking though, TW has not been a good experience for me thus far. It just seems everyday I find something else. Wheels will be there Friday, and I told myself i was good for a while. As I was driving today, I was like, I wonder if I can TW a speaker upgrade? Yep, just ordered the Kicker upgrade w/tweeters.

This site is truly horrible in that way.

It hasn't been cheap hanging out on here, that's for sure!

Nope - got the house paid off in August.

EDIT: We still have property taxes, homeowners insurance, and HOA dues to pay for every year, so I'm not living totally free...

Yeah I know but having grown up in Colorado I've realized this, Iowa is a wonderful place to live but a terrible place to vacation and Colorado is the opposite.
Some differences between Iowa and Colorado from my perspective:
    1. People are nicer out here in general
    2. There's less traffic so getting places isn't a hassle
    3. If I want to go to a major city, Omaha or Chicago or KC or Minneapolis, it's only a 3-5 hour drive
    4. Cost of living is much more reasonable
    5. I can go shooting out the back yard
I could keep going, but I realize that the Midwest isn't for everyone and that there are things that we don't have that others do like mountains or the ocean. But when it comes to how affordable it is it can't really be beat. I'd never trade living here for Colorado unless you got rid of 50-80% of people there. I grew up in what used to be a small town there and watched the big city eat it up.

We're a few years from retirement yet, but once we're there, we're out.

It's either a quieter part of Colorado or out of state for us, the crowds and the shit is getting to be a bit too much.

I spent roughly $250K a year on my AMEX delta card for 3 years straight (business expenses) and could never get a free flight due to black out dates. I switched to the AMEX platinum and have no regrets. Free flights on several carriers and can spend my miles using the app on my phone - flight, food, hotels, cash, etc. I like the AMEX because the balance is due in full each month which makes it easier to not get in over my head.

That is the plan, it'd definitely be easier to stop contributing for a while but I know that'll end up costing way more down the road. Plus it would be downright absurd to miss out on employer matching.

Which would be why I issued the caveat "While it may be true for some . . . " Too many generalizations in this dumbass thread, assuming that ANYONE who can mod their truck the way we have is doing so via bad debt.

Less than 1/4 of 1% of estates every year in the US are subject to the estate tax.
Which is actually a form of capital gains tax when you understand under what circumstances apply to the tax.

I think you should focus your pet peeve energy on issues that apply to more than pretty much 1 or 2 people every year.
Focus on the jacked up tax burden on the middle class that impacts 300 million people per year.

But thats just my opinion lol ;)
