With no real time together due to the schedule, we try to go out as much as we can. Any port in a storm, right?

I usually tip pretty decent, but if the service sucks I start ratcheting that down pretty quickly. We went out for a burger Sunday, and our server flat-out disappeared for quite some time. A different gal came out to help us, but near the end of our meal our original server showed up again! I didn't want to stiff the gal who was helping us out, but what would normally be about 20% was well under 10% when I settled up.

I come back for 6 days of swing, 2 off, 7 day shift, off 2, then back to graveyard for 7. Pretty much that schedule for the whole year.

It looks like there might be a slot opening up on days for me, so if I get it, it should be permanent.

No more differential would be a bummer, but I'd MUCH rather have my life back!

Yea a consistent work schedule would be nice I do miss it. I don't have much time for anything any more. My build is put on hold n parts are collecting in the garage. Not to mention 1 of my trucks is not drivable cuz I never time to fix the dam thing.

I have so little time to get shit done working nights.

You have to get up "early" (1:30 or 2 in the afternoon for me) to run errands and make phone calls and meet with folks before everything closes, then I get dinner with the wifey and some TV, and then that's it. She's a light sleeper so anything I do has to be quiet, so I end up either watching a movie or playing computer games.

    It sucks, hard.

This week wifey thought it be ok to have play dates at our house while I'm trying to sleep. High pitch screaming kids that not even a sleeping pill n melatonin can fix. This afternoon I set the rule no body comes over while dad is on graveyard

After working 14 days straight of 0000-0600 it really fucks up my 14 nights of sleep at home. First few days are alcohol and pills to kick it back to regular then there are usually a few days of melatonin to help. I do enjoy the quiet of the overnight work but I do think the sleep issues are taking years off my life.

Yeah, I had to get a script so I could sleep, it was getting so bad. I try to only take them occasionally, but I'm finding I need them more often lately.

Don't even ask how much I drink on my nights off...
