anybody paint there grill or plasti dip or anything? I have a chrome one and want to get away from that crap

 

Yes did it years ago,to get rid of chrome.Later up graded to a homer taco grill.

 

trying to keep it cheap will eventually get a nice grill...just when the wallet stops crying from all the other mods
How did you get rid of the chrome? My friend said i should be able to peel the crome off to get to the base layer??

 

Spray on oven cleaner took off all the chrome in the bezels when I did my headlight retrofit.

 

Skip step 1...2...3...and go right to a @HomerTaco grill

 

No need to strip chrome.just spray over the chrome.

PlastiGrill. No prep, used 1 full can (4,5 coats?). 2.5 years in and I'll probably peel it and re-do it this summer.

 

I plasti diped my 3rd gen grill. I'm happy with how it came out.

I think I used 2.5 cans. The thicker the coat the easier it is to take off if you don't like it.

I warmed 2 cans in 130* tap water. Those came out really smooth. The third can I didn't warm up as long and it had a bit of texture, not too bad though.

 

The texture is nice though @steele-taco

 

we said Homertaco to much...But the plasti dip looks great! The chrome sticks out like a sore thumb with my bull bar around it. i need my truck to blend together

 

Gettting the front Y-pipe mod tomorrow...... was that Low cost exhaust on RT1 in Langhorn? @HomerTaco @loosnut
