Thought of that too, asked my buddies if the guy who posted the picture was credible. They aren’t quite sure either.

That is quite different. Ask in the tips and tricks thread. They will know.

I don’t know what the engine compartment of a 3rd Gen looks like. Is it the new 3rd Gen SC?

Not quite sure, haven’t been there to check it out myself. I’m guessing if the post is real then it’d most likely be in the most traveled portions
    (entrances/exits, main trails)

Quad trails might be fine but proceed with caution.

FYI: Island Beach State Park is out in full enforcement. Had a run in with them last night and ended up chatting with them for a bit. They said their Sargent is telling them to make there presence felt. Cracking down on people who are not there for fishing reasons. I’ve been there three times since getting my pass just over a week ago and I’ve had three run ins with the rangers, once each visit. After over a decade of going out there and never talking to them I thought it was more than a coinsedence. So after being pulled over for being over the speed limit yesterday I brought the “coinsedence” up to them and they confirmed. I told them I’m a local and rule follower, I support the crack down as a bunch of people just looking to drive on the beach are not equipped with all nessary gear and or getting stuck cuz not aired down or whatever. They also said they had an issue last year with roof top tents. They will most likely be stricter on camping out there. Now friends with the rangers, I was let go with a warning for speeding and no license (left in my work truck).

To all trying to go out there make sure your legit and follow the rules.

    Indeed.

Tho it use to be a quiet getaway where nobody bothered you, it now with gaining popularity has become a police enforced checklist to go out there.. The classic people ruin it for everyone..

Reminds me of angels landing in Zion. What once was an awesome escape location has turned into a crowded tourist destination.

Makes us look all that harder for the “ off the beaten track “

@Chux i do gotta commend you for your methods here in telling the officer you are "a local and a rule follower" after getting stopped for a possible speed infringement...
that is a pretty classy move

I have often thought about strapping a child seat in the back in effort of getting a lenient cop. Maybe along side a window decal with baby on board. :fingerscrossed:
