The 87 file is fantastic. I’ll write some thoughts up tonight. Once I get home I’ll be around 300 miles on it.

 

I've never run an 87 file but I think I'm going to to flash it tonight and try it out.

 

In case Mat missed the post, you can use program called HxD (Hexeditor) to compare the two 91 files. Then you'll know rather they have the same contents.

And yes, auto guy is in your manual thread again.

No hesitation after cold start take off!!!!

 

Just flashed mine letting it idle learn as I type this. Then off to fuel up and test drive.

 

I flashed the 104 this morning and had a error in that the flash was not successful. I did not turn the key off and retried. I ended up shutting down the flash program and manage to flash the 104. A bit of a pucker moment. Why did this happen?

Forgot to mention I had my anti virus off.

 

Like buttah. Skipped my training session and went for a drive. 91oct is $$

Mine failed on the first attempt. Just hit write again and it worked fine.

agree. but there is some slightly uncomfortable foreshadowing here... wonder who's gonna bring the problems this time? lol

 

if you look back a couple pages you'll see my flash failed repeatedly. turns out the file came down corrupted. i re downloaded and it flashed first try. that was on a previous pcmflash v.1.1.83

 

Ok I’m back from my drive....

This new file is smooth. Low rpm 1st & 2nd gear bucking is gone. Feels very linear all the way to red line. I am very pleased with it so far. We will see.

 

Just got home. 300 miles today on 1.04A 87. Will write up later tonight on my thoughts & feedback.

 

Yeah it's still possible, we all need to get lots more miles on it yet. The variance in these trucks could be a factor, but Mat has nailed all the major issues as far as I can tell (owner of cranky assed truck here).

One good sign is we don't seem to have an all out war going on WRT tip in this time.

Personal preferences can be handled with custom tuning.
