Many of those belong to the Swatch group. Hamilton, Tissot, Certina, I believe Longines as well. So it makes sense that they would share the same movement. What surprised me was Sinn. I always assumed they used German movements.

It is. Any watch under the $10,000 price point are likely ETA 7750 or slightly modded. That doesn't make it a bad movement though. They are like Toyotas. It's not special but definately reliable.

You all have some pretty nice watches! Much to like.

Here's my daily time piece. The wife got it for me as an anniversary gift about 10 years ago...she liked how the bracelet "matches" my wedding band. I like it because it's comfy, stylish and not so huge.

Nothing fancy. Citizen I bought when my wife and I got married in 2009. Wear it daily. Took it outta rotation for about 6 months to a year when I bought a luminox but broke the luminox. Dial hand pulled out, broke outta warranty. Back to the trusty old citizen. Might get a new one for our ten year anniversary next year will see.

My Tudor Heritage Ranger is powered by an ETA 2824 movement. ETA movements really are found in all sorts of watches.

This is my other one, Citizen Skyhawk Blue Angels edition. My wife got me this one too, prior to my Omega. She’s a good girl, and has great taste in watches.
It’s a fun one, 20-something time zones, stopwatch, timer. I love it for traveling.

Who the fuck would waste 10k on a wrist mounted metal heap!?

Seriously what makes a 10k time piece worth 10k!?

The again I'm more of a practical fella, timex keeps time just a well as any Rolex.

That said i haven worn a watch in 15 years, gets caught on too much, leaves weird tan lines and digs into my hand and wrist too much. Clock on my cell phone works just fine for me.

    :anonymous:

If you're spending more than $50 on a watch you're buying jewelry, and men don't look good with jewelry, just my opinion.

Some watches are worth the “more than $50”.
I used to go through cheap watches like I changed undewear... Some would litterally last less than a day some slightly longer than a month.
For 10k on a watch, yes you are most likely buying jewellery.
But $1000 on a watch can mean that it is made with better materials and will last longer than any $50 watch.

For example: I used to break Timex watches on the regular.
I bought a $200 Luminox that lasted me 7 years.
After breaking that one I bought a $1000 Marathon that will probably last at least twice as long or more than the Luminox due to construction and materials used.

    You're doing something wrong man...

These are the only two watches I have ever owned, don't even know why I still have them but I do.

The Humvee is from 1997, it needs a battery but it still works.

Both have been around the world and I have taken the Humvee diving to at least 60ft in salt water. Sky diving, mini triathlons, military training etc.

Actually now that I recall it that's one of the primary reasons I stopped wearing a watch, first time you throw someone on the ground in MCMAP and dude tries to rip your hand off cause he's got a good hold on your watch you'll regret strapping the damn thing on.
