Yeah I’m not sure why I’m so hard on watches... I figure it’s probably a combination on wearing my watch on my dominant hand and probably some other factors...
I’ve been breaking watches long before I even joined the military...

Whatever it is, I got tired of spending $30-$50 on watches every couple months, so I invested in more robust ones.

That's when you use the reflection off the watch to blind the bastard. :D

Seriously though there's plenty of watches that are worth a higher price. Especially when you get into the GPS watches and that kind of stuff. Lots of cool features available.

    Same.

Do you ever have issues getting yours to sync at night if the face isn't pointed upwards? Seem like mine won't sync if I set it on its side. Used to but now it doesn't seem to work. :notsure:

Smart watches and GPS or dive calculator watches, even altimeter watches I would group into a second category outside of "time piece" they serve, in some cases, vital secondary functions.

But like the "Gervotichaniz 4713 piece jeweled swiss/martian movement" (the fukever) you see in airline duty free mags for the 'low low price of 1 human soul' and all they do is tell you "hey retard you're late" will probably never make sense to me.

But hey I don't knock anyone if it makes you happy!

It just personally isn't my thing. :)

There's only been one expensive watch I was interested in, and that was more respect for the mechanics and fascination with the design rather than a desire or envy and that was a watch that had two clear faces, or a clear face and clear back so you could see all the little cogs and such, that was powered by springs wound by centripetal movement (NO BATTERY and NO MANUAL WINDUP!)

That was several years ago and if I recall the owner stated it was sub $600?

Actually if someone has a name or an idea of likeness too I would be appreciative to know it simply for curiosities sake.

    Agreed!

But if you put 10k into a mutual fund, and you made another 3-4k- then it become high yield...

Sometimes a “metal heap” becomes a nice investment that is insurable and profitable.

I had the same issue, I put mine over a sock or something to prop it up, then point the 12:00 side towards where it recieves the time (I believe Denver, CO)

No bowing to me. I've been blessed with a good job and I'm very careful with my spending. Coworkers would call me cheap for bringing my lunch every day yet wonder why I could afford some nicer things in life that they couldn't.
