    Despite the fact that the caps for the tanks have a diaphragm built into them these coolant systems never see pressure within the system. They are designed to simply circulate coolant not pressurize within.

    Therefore, as long as you have a cap which seals whatever tank you decide to use whether stock or not, there will be harm brought to it even if you use something that has no diaphragm built into it.

    @Torspd im running dtlt headers with stock y pipe. do you think it would flow better with urd y pipe? i no it would but do you think its restricting it alot?

    Just pulling my 5500lb camper up a grade to get on the freeway. And yes, if I get 200 miles to tank something really good happened. Usually 170-185 miles a tank. Since the 4.88's it seems to have gone up a bit. But I rarely let my tank get under a quarter. Usually fill up right at a quarter and hope to see anything over 150 miles. As for the whine, yeah it sounds like alot but that is with the lid off of the AFE. Since getting into this thread, all I can do is think about more mods to help the truck out and wonder how much power I am loosing. But I also have lots of plans for new rear suspension again. And my new tires showed up so I need to buy new wheels and am undecided. Weight vs Looks vs Price vs great people and service. So little money, so much want. LOL

    If there is expansion it is likely very minimal. If the system was boiling then I could see there being a need for a vented system.

    I amount it to the equal of when your radiator cap is defective and no longer pressurizing the system. You remove the cap and there is no fluid bursting out regardless if it is hot or not.

    If I'm wrong please correct me. (No I'm not writing this in a standoff-ish way)
