Rotors and pads. Is this a good match?

Need new front pads. I also want to get new front rotors.

yea from the research I did a while back (never pulled the trigger on the new brakes) the powerslots are good, and any ceramic pad works good

 

Yet! good choice man! I did the Powerslot sloted Rotors and Hawk LTS pads.

 

I don't think you should waste that amount of money on the truck. You have like 160,000+ miles and prob can't drive a 4 cyl that hard to need that braking power or caliber of brakes.

My recommendation is turn your rotors and get some nice pads. Plenty for what you have.
Its llike having a 15 bedroom house with just you and your wife....why?

 

Thanks for the feedback folks. I was thinking the same thing as you noted. However, I plan on keeping this truck until the wheels fall off or my son turns 16. Which is 15 years from now!!

I plan to hit your site when I get around to getting new shocks (front and back) and new leaf springs. My springs are going negative. But I will have to save up for it and talk my wife into spending the money

You might want to do a search here for the tundra brake upgrade. Might be a cheaper way to get bigger brakes and calipers using oem parts.

 

Cool. But Im good with the size as of now. Braking power is fine, just need some new pads.
I had a 01 Tundra and upgraded the brakes (it was a gen 1 issue) to the 2nd gen style.

 

That's a good setup.
I have the same ceramic pads from Napa for about the same price.
As for the rotors, I went with the slotted/cross drilled ones from Summit Racing: drivers side & passenger side all for about $118 shipped. I have approx. 4000 miles on the set and there is zero brake fade and a big difference in stopping distance. Worth the $170 IMO.

I ended up just getting some Hawk ceramic pads and plan to have the rotors turned. They look fine to me.
