Ooooo me me I have its funny and scary. I don't like using the kind that @dan0mite has. Only has 2 points of contact on the spring just like the ones you can rent which I also own a set of those. I like the caged style with 3 points of contact on the spring when they let loose in that there is no where for it to go and the safest way of compressing springs. If you've ever changed springs in a car where the spring is mounted in the LCA and the frame there is always a little bit of stored energy left in those springs when you knock them out of the LCA perch and they shoot across the floor a ways and that is with hardly any compression on the spring.

This style but with a cage around it

Those branicks are nice but the struttamer like I have actually grab and lock onto the coil. But as you know, there are inherit risks with any tool you use.

I tightened up the springs of my rear shock on my pit bike. Ripped around for one hour
and my ass was hurting. Came home and loosened the spring back up. Anyone who says
compressing up a spring doesn't make things stiffer has never ridden a stiff motocross bike.

Nope, but like with any shop tool, I'd rather not see (or be present when) the catastrophic failure occur.

I will say i clamped the fawk out of those coil springs before i did any kind of compression on them.

So I saw on another thread from Nov 2017 that the price of Icon front rebuild at DSMS was $75 each for 2.5s

If that’s true why double the price in 5.5 months?....odd? Idk

I've used your style before most shops I worked at had them because they are "cheaper" to get into for shop tools. They are pretty nice but once you use a branick there is nothing like it especially with toyota camry springs.

Type of spring but yes even a linear rate spring will only compress but so far before it gets tight and really stiff.

Thanks Scooter! The first load I plan to drop off at the new place is the bike on my 6x10 trailer just to get it out of the way. You never know how much crap you actually have until you move.

Rears Extended with resis..I actually had them “custom made” to be the longest length on the rear as they could be with Dakar leaf pack. Fronts are extended too with no resis and the 700 coils

Definitely! The house I’m in now has always been a transition house for our move from CA...I was able to hold off on doing much to it. The new house already has a lot of what I’d do already done. So I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.

Exactly what I have. Debating a 14” 650lb coil. Instead of the 13” included. Dont think I need the 700lb 14” though.
