Was lubing my driveshafts yesterday and noticed the bottom of my transmission and transfer had a light film of oil on them. No obvious leak point, just seems like the seal is weeping all around.

Curious if anyone has this. 25k mi on truck.

Quite a few members have had this happen. My theory is the breather valves are getting clogged or stuck and pushing gear oil by the seals. Same thing with the rear diffs.

Whichever the case, if it’s under 60k miles take it to a dealer and make them fix it.

I’ll keep an eye on it. Last thing I need right before camping season is my truck to sit at the dealership while they wait for some obscure back ordered part...

I’d make the dealer fix it. Sometimes the leak will effect the actuator then fuckery starts. If you do a search, you’ll see other members have had this happen and got it fixed under warranty, it’s the drive train.
