What are the bed pockets for?

Those pockets toward the front of the bed... what are they for exactly?

 

peanut butter sammiches while camping in the bed of the truck.

 

I've seen a couple people put speakers in them for outside sound

 

Dust and debris from the road seem to love settling in there.

From what I remember reading they have more use when being manufactured and installing the bed. As for function for the consumer? Whatever you choose to do with it is your choice.

I was just wondering because the rear has doors and that makes sense to store crap in there... but those dont have doors. Anything I put in there will fall out. Other things like the notches in the bed are for wood slats, those have a specific use. I was wondering if the ones up front have a specific use or if perhaps there was some sort of factory accessory meant to go in that spot or something.

 

they're for breaking the plastic clips off of them when you try to wire your lights in the bed and then popping out of the damn hole every time you go over a railroad track... at least in my experience
