The question is if you trust Firestone to do an alignment on your truck.

    Coupon man...

To me... that is a no.

So what you are saying is that @Zac of all trades needs to update his resume?

And that there is now some form of opening at the company?

But in all seriousness, congratulations I hope? Have anything lined up or just going to see what happens now?

Let me know if you need to sell any ** stuff if you get strapped for cash....

I know boo, it is because I am so far away.

Well congrats you have a new job lined up, able to share what it is? Can be in private if you want.

I have wanted to go into management for a while, but I know at the current place I am at, that is not going to happen as the people above me are going to be there for a pretty good while. So sticking to my current plan and seeing where it leads me.

    Completely off topic...

Why the hell was this not offered as a course when I was getting my degree at UT Tyler?

    http://www.uttyler.edu/biology/undergraduate/1320.php

Biology 1320 - Zombie Apocalypse: Biology of Disease

    Course Objectives
    1. Students will learn how cellular metabolism, energy requirements, and enzyme activity govern living cells & organisms. (“Dead vs. Alive”)
    2. Students will learn the difference between correlation and causation in scientific research, and understand how researchers and physicians design scientific experiments to elucidate the difference between correlation & causation. (“What’s making zombies?”)
    3. Students will learn how genes control protein function, and how hereditary disease occurs and can be treated (“Are they mutant zombies?”)
    4. Students will learn how the environment plays a role in human health, and how stewardship of the environment protects human health (“Are they toxic zombies?”)
    5. Students will learn about pathogens and how we treat the diseases they cause. They will also learn about natural selection and antibiotic resistance (“Are they contagious zombies?”)
    6. Students will learn how the specific immune system works and how vaccines work to protect individuals and populations (“Fighting zombies!”)
    7. Students will study one human body system (the nervous system) and how an example disease affects its function and development (“Brains!”)
    8. Students will synthesize what they have learned through guided experiments in the laboratory into a lab experiment of their own design and present a poster on the outcome.

The first lecture would be funny. The rest of the semester would be just as much a drag as any freshman bio course.

Now that you say that... I would agree with that and I would be so damn bored after the first class.

Only reason I even found this is because someone posted the following on my facebook

Unpopular pinion: general education courses in college are a complete scam for your money to keep you paying for 4+ yrs. If gen ed courses weren't a requirement, majors really only require 2 yrs of classes. All of highschool was gen ed- it's simply unnecessary.

So then I decided to go see what I actually had to take to get my degree and realize all the stupid shit I had to take for "core curriculum" on top of my major/minor courses...

Congrats man! That’s exciting and I’m stoked for you!
47% of community college attendees never finish the 2 year program (NCES, 2016). The majority of those students start in remedial classes, or “extra high school”, because they were not taught literacy or numeracy skills during that period. They’re required to ensure the student understands the core skill set used in the upper level classes (research, writing, how to learn, time management, simple math as a foundation, etc.). If core classes (above remedial) seem easy or pointless, you had a decent education during your high school tenure

I just wrote a gnarly paper on how college shouldn’t be free (for so many reasons).

You mean why college shouldn’t be free? Do you mean community college or college in general shouldn’t be free?

Public colleges is the only topic on the table. Private colleges and for-profits don’t apply.

The plans proposed over the last several decades start with community colleges and graduate (aaaaye) to 4 year universities.

I’m open to discuss it maturely via PM, but I don’t want to a.) get banned for public political posts or b.) start a mass infuriation by injecting my personal opinions. That being said, I want to hear what you think!

I don’t have much to contribute per say on the subject school being free. My motto has always been, Work ethic > School. I just started working on a dock when I was 18...7 years later I’m still here. Just finished paying off my wife’s last student loan 2 months ago. Also we just closed on our first house this past week which was a big accomplishment for both of us. Sometimes I wish I would have applied myself more, but meh Im where I needed to land try not to waste time thinking about it. If I did consider going back I’d delve into a trade for sure. School just wasn’t for me personally. I’ll stay here another 20 years, retire and go travel. Or do that thing everyone is doing now....I think it’s called overlanding or something like that. :D

On a serious note super thankful and happy to have landed where I have. Couldn’t have married a better woman who loves Toyota’s, family, and food just as much as I do. Just closed on our first house this past week life is good! Got to enjoy the good times while they’re good! Everyone keeps saying to add a kiddo in the mix, but we like being fattys too much. Don’t think I could feed another person that eats like myself budget is already tight enough with my fatass.
