That is one of the few complaints about Bersas, the finish isn't always the best. My Bersa UC9 had some sharp edges. I used a jewelers file and did a bit of dehorning. Took the finish off the edges, but that's OK. It's a carry gun, not a safe queen. Holster wear would have taken the finish off the edges eventually anyway. My Combat model, and the wife's Thunder were both nice and smooth, no dehorning necessary on those.

As far as "big" 380s go , the beretta cheetah can't be beat. It's 1-2 oz heavier than a bersa, but made so much better. Of course it's a lot more $$$.

The conceealed carry version is supposedly smoothed on all the edges and have really low profile sights.

Wouldnt mind the all nickel one. I may pick one up. Would prefer 9mm tbo.

Yeah, if I was a person going the 9 mm route, I would get into something like a G43 or XDS 9

Love my Shield. Thin, smooth, and accurate, with a manual safety to protect my manly bits when I carry appendix. And my shapely arse, when I don't. I wouldn't mind an extra round or two, but for me it makes an ideal carry gun 90% of the time.

Thanks, I thought so. I wish they would make one with a de-cocker, I'd be pretty interesting in that model if it did. Fine looking firearm.

Horrible, Horrible plan. NEVER carry a 1911-based gun with the hammer down and a round in the chamber. Condition 2 is just a bad, bad idea. If you don't want to carry in condition 1, carry in condition 3.

Unless it's got a firing pin block (true 1911's don't), carrying in condition 2 is just begging for a surprise 'bang' and a round through the thigh.

Edit- Or the calf, like a guy on here did 3 or 4 years ago. I don't remember who it was, but he loaded the gun, chambered a round, lowered the hammer, stuck the gun in his holster, and promptly holed himself.

Agree 100%. I always carried a 1911 until I started carrying appendix. Not comfortable cocked and locked in that location! I was surprised at how accurate it is for such a short barrel.
