I agree, even if I don't get to this, I want to get out to the woods, thinking about heading up to Moosehead early July and again for our normal August trip.

The discussion on comms has died down.

@mach1man001 @fatfurious2 and @Blais03 you signed up to take the HAM Technician License test yet? It’s 15 bucks and there should be a testing site near you.

    Go to ARRL.org for details.

Should be easy. My 9 year old nephew recently took it and did fine. His dad, my brother is an avid HAM and is a member of the local emergency management team in WA.

I did get a better score than my nephew and he’s mad.

    Offering up a suggestion:

At least try to do what @Blais03 did and setup the tent in the comfort of your yard just to get the hang of it and work out any issues. Trying to read directions to setup in the middle of nowhere, in the rain/heat/cold/dark is not fun.

While it’s up in your yard, you might also have to seam seal the rain fly, if it hasn’t been done at the factory.

Definitely planning on setting everything up at home first. It says 30 second set up time on the package, looks like all you have to do is extend the poles for the A frame and it's basically done. I'm curious how waterproof it will be since it was only $30... I'll probably be spraying it down with some of that scotchguard water shield stuff.

I thought with a 30 second setup time, you could just throw it, and it does the rest. Take down would be 2 minutes

    Nice!

The rainfly seams are the most likely to allow water into your tent. Seam sealer is available at most outdoor stores. Probably Amazon as well.

Even the best tents I think should be sealed yearly

    That’s about $67 per second.

    Mine’s about $0.001 per second.

Book the exam ahead of time. It forces you to prepare for it.

But not much prep involved. Use the exam prep app that I posted earlier and you should be good to go.

All yall and your fancy truck tents. Got my ozark trail easy up tent doing the job just fine! Besides the roots and rocks that hurt my feet, buts thats why i use foam puzzle pieces....

Now can the HAM and CB's all talk together? I would assume so since HAM is like a better cb correct?

Add me onto that camping list brotha +1 extra @mach1man001

HAM and CB radios do not communicate with each other. The frequency’s and skip is completely different

Right now is 10% off and free shipping. That is what convinced me in the first place because they are in Oregon.

I think i paid $1300. Mine is the M49, in the 1-2 person section
