Does anybody have issues with the OEM bed mat flying out? Have any fixes? I just went through a car wash and the drying fans blew it out of the bed. I don't want that to happen when passing a truck.20180511_143117.jpg

A keg of beer right in the middle should do the trick.

I've had that mat in my 07 for 11 years and not once has it ever flown out. That's 106k miles and two hurricanes.

Non-issue. It never moves under normal driving situations.

I know there are drain holes in the bed. You could get cotter pin bolts that are thinner so they don't block the hole completely and go from the top of the mat down under the bed and slip the pin in to keep them in place.

I had this same issue, wind on the highway caught under the corner and blew it out of the bed. I sold it and picked up a $30 horse trailer mat and cut to fit. that thing weighs probably 50lbs now and doesn't budge.

I don't know what kind of OEM mat you have, but mine is super think and weighs quite a bit...

Perhaps the carwash needs to turn down their dryers.

Oh I see you have a short bed. Mine's a long bed. Must be something to do with things that are too complicated for me.

No issues with the long bed mat, even going 80 mph plus at the highway.

2nd recommendation for bolting it down. There’s a write up on here somewhere for it. Should take you about 5-10 minutes and a quick trip to your local hardware store for a bolt, nut & washers

Some people put bolts in the drain holes and cut holes in the bed mat, also help prevent theft.

Mine is heavy as hell. I think shipping weight was 60 lbs?

I drive 80mi of mostly interstate every day passing numerous trucks, never any problems.

It's only an issue when the car wash dryer blows directly into the bed. Long or short bed, the air pushes underneath the mat because of the raised bumps and the mat goes flying. Good news is, the mat is heavy enough it doesn't fly out of the bed you just have to readjust it once you're out of the car wash.

I've only ever done the car wash like 6 times but it's never flown out or even moved. That's the self drive and pull through ones.

Make sure the sides of the bed mat are tucked under these screw heads on both sides, never had my factory bed mat lift up before.
