I just had a guy accuse me of siding with terrorist because I was driving a Toyota and not an "american made truck".

 

Has anyone been up wabdr section 3 between ellensburg and cashmere lately? I know there was a washout last year, but I was thinking about trying to make it a day trip this weekend with a buddy and seeing how far we could go.

Looks like you're in the same boat as me. Was planning on trying to get up to Fortune Creek/Gallagher this afternoon and camp for the night with some friends, but we're headed to Manastash Ridge instead.

I had a manual diesel hylux as a personal vehicle and also a low-key armored hylux when I was in the southern Philippines on 2 deployments. Awesome trucks. Wish we had that turbo diesel here.

Yeah i drove up the road behind Eberg towards Lion Rock last weekend and its still blocked by snow a few miles from the top, you can just get by the house that's up there.

 

i was up there 2-3 weeks ago and the snow started and got deep right at the top of the trail. I'd be surprised if it was passable at all

 

A turret mounted mk 19 would make traffic a lot easier tho

 

Only thing with mk19s is that the 40mm grenade needs to spin enough times before it's activated I believe. Plus blowing up the car directly in front of you is generally not the best idea. Just swinging the .50 cal to the car you want to move did the trick out in the desert.

 

When we ran that trail last year at the rally, and I broke off to go home, I had to cross 2 drifts that where still up there. Still about 3 feet deep and around 30 yards long.

 

It's official. Overland tickets purchased! Now to plan it out

 

Show up, drive trucks, drink beer, burn it, drink more beer, sleep, repeat 3 times. Plan complete.
