Climate Control Knob upgrade with matching "back-lighting."

Some pretty incredible mods here, but for a super simple upgrade and around $15.00, swap out the "blah" black knobs. I bought mine on Amazon and read some of the reviews there, where one reviewer mentioned using taillight lens tape in amber (3 layers) to match the Tacoma's interior lighting. I did that and it did not match enough for me, but he definitely put me on the right path. I went back to Advanced Auto (where I bought the amber tape) and picked up red. I decided to see if one layer of amber and one layer of red would produce an "expected" orange hue. It sure did! I love it! It's about dead on as far as matching the Tacoma's back-lighting.

    IMG_3364.jpg IMG_3365.jpg IMG_3367.jpg
It probably took 1/2 hour to cut out the colored disks and seat them properly. I used an Xacto knife for cutting out the center and regular scissors for cutting the outer circumference of the circle, which I traced with black marker, using the new knob. Figure on an extra $10 above the $15 (knob cost) for both colors of lens tape if you want your lighting to match. I like everything to look stock, so it was definitely worth the extra time.

I also recently replaced the heater blower motor to get rid of that annoying ticking sound, so both of those are my two favorite interior "mods" (the blower motor isn't a mod but a welcome improvement) to date.

When blower squeaks, you can use pumice stone to clean up the commutator if its not a bearing that is gone but I thinks its easier to just replace the blower

what did you buy as a replacement blower...mine is ticking too...and there are some on Amazon with questionable reviews, but they are a lot cheaper than the toyota ones...any input?

Used 1 4in diameter pvc piece and 1 4in to 3in adapter and glued together and cut 4 in piece to length. wraped with vinyl to help hold together but epoxy still holding

Need to put the bigger cup holder in order for adapter to fit .Don't know what diameter stock cup holder is but probably can find one the correct diameter you might be able to use and join with a 4in piece of pvc pipe.
Can try take side view pis so you can see what I'm talking about.

I liked lighting up my glove box and center console with LED's and switches that allowed them to come on when opened. Cheap, fun and practical !

Not sure what you are referring to or what you can see in the pictures but there is a TomTom gps, the dash cam behind the mirror, the aux cord hanging around the mirror, and the ditch lights that can be seen through the windshield

Just yesterday I added the A-pillar Ram Mount mod as well as a USB port. Georgia's cracking down on cell phones in cars and you can't even HOLD yours after July 1st. Figured I needed a secure and convenient place for it.
