Mine has flown completely out. Had to get out and put it back in.

And yes it only happens from the car wash dryers. Not all the time. . . the jet has to hit at the perfect angle and all 18 planets have to align.

Mine flipped around occasionally in a car wash but never came out. 13 years no issue. I actually moved my 2nd gen mat to my 3rd gen. Perfect fit.

Cargo net. Lay it out, and attach to the 4 D-Rings in the corners. Plus you then have a cargo net to use when needed, and for $8 from harbor freight; if it breaks you are not out a ton of $ for it.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but I went with a stall mat from Tractor Supply. 3/4” thick and only cost $42. Doesn’t move any.

I wouldn't use these car washes if you cared about your paint.

Depends on the color of paint you have. You can buff out most of the swirl's on lighter colored vehicles. If I had MGM or Black, not a chance it's going through an automatic wash. We're basically frozen for 4 months out of the year, so I have to in order to keep the grime off.

Nope....mine has never once even fluttered with many miles on the highway and the occasional touchless car wash blower

Darker colors are easier to see swirls/scratches but your still damaging the paint no matter what color it is. Would hate to live someplace that cold tho but I understand if you have too.

3/8 bolt and fender washer through drain hole... Also prevents theft if you are worried about that kind of thing.

Here we go again with this blanket comment advice. My 2016 Tacoma has probably gone through the carwash 50 + times and its perfect. You can even look really close at it in the direct sunlight and it looks perfect. It all depends on the car wash. If you go through the convenience store car washes, you will have some problems. We have nice car washes in our area so it has never been an issue.

    Automatic car washes are evil.

It's the poltergeists. You need an exorcist to go with the fender washers.

    Oahu, Hi
I have seen light swirls in tacomas I detailed that came straight from the the dealership either from shipping or the "detailers" at the dealership. I can guarantee your truck paint isn't perfect. Never have I seen a car from the dealership that didn't have some kind of flaws and I corrected about 40+ just this year so far before ceramic coating. But if your paint is perfect then good for you:bowdown: . My comment was just to keep people aware of what these car washes can do.
