    A-F*n-Men!

Now. Let me preface the following statement by saying that I love my Daughter and Wife!

But dayum do I miss that true freedom. Friday after work... load up some random ish in the bed of the truck and pick a direction.

And now? Shoot. Wondering WTF to do next. The baby seat cannot fit in the Xtra Cab of the Tacoma.

Not getting rid of the Tacoma (unless offered a stupid amount of money). So... and.... I got nothing. Damn it!

I'm on a shit shift here at work now (W,T,F,S 6p-6a), and it's REALLY put a damper on my outdoor activities with family and friends.

I've hiked alone, I've wheeled alone (yeah, I know..), but never really considered camping alone.

I'm beginning to think it might be worth a shot, I mean, it beats the hell outta being stuck inside all the time!

    Definitely a third world problem...

I'm thinking about picking one up, actually.

The ONE good thing about this shift is that the $$ is pretty decent.

I've had both indel-b and dometic. Both worked great but i loved the dual zone of the dometic. Passed with a $200 solar setup and bigger battery you can leave it on all the time.

    THIS!

Fridge? Go get one of those Ozark Trail Coolers that mimic the expensive Yeti coolers. Load it with ice and be done.

I say this as I view my Amazon wish list of things (Teton XL Cot, shower system, etc.).

Although I miss the single-life-freedom (#EAF = EasyAsFuck)... I'm super happy that my wife is ALL about adventure, off the grid, and "naked & affraid" stuff.

I'm keeping the hiking boots and pants at least. Naked? Sheeeeyit.

I have this MONSTER "Canyon" cooler that's been great, I'm just a bit jelly of my buds and their fridges.

And "dual zone"? What's that? I know the ARB units can either be fridges OR freezers, does the Dometic do both at the same time or something?

Yes the dometic 65 has a divider that's removable. Take it out and it's a single temp. Put it in and you can have a freezer side and fridge side.

    Nice!

These are way cheaper than the ARBs too, how do they compare otherwise?

From the tests I've seen, indel-b and arb are similar other than price. Not sure about dometic vs arb, but the build quality of dometic was slightly nicer than indel-b. I think i paid $550 for the dometic

    $900?

Ha! Canned Beans, Soup, Peanut Butter, and Oatmeal it is! My Honey Bourbon doesn't need to be chilled or iced.

Won't be mad about having steaks on the first night only.

How long does dry ice last anyway? And can the Ozark Trail cooler handle it?

Yeah. I have been trying to see the truck all week and the seller keeps telling me he'll call me back later. Says I can text any time then doesn't respond. When I call in the afternoon he says that something came up and he will call me in the morning.

Should probably just focus my time and energy elsewhere but it was the exact truck I wanted.

Why not? Is there something mechanically wrong (longevity, function-over-form ish) with the automatic?

I dig the manual BTW. In a sports car.... the ONLY way to go.

That's a HUGE, LONG azz truck.

A co-worker of mine told me that if you're going to go Ford... it should be the 7.3. I don't recall why... but this guy puts in research for the things he spends his money on. I have to believe he says that for a dayum good reason.
