With the lack of a dongle, is it loaded to the truck via bluetooth? or still usb? Is there mac version of the software available or are you still stuck with win7/10 laptops only?

I just flashed the truck yesterday with the 87 tune and couldn't be happier. I'm certain this question has been asked/answered somewhere already, but was unable to find it "searching"... Does the 91 tune absolutely require 91 octane? If I flash the 91 tune, and let's say my wife puts 87 octane in, will it be problematic? Will it still perform the same as the 87 tune? What are the differences with each tune when running different octanes?

it absolutely needs 91 to be safe. Please don't risk it, the difference in ignition is enough to cause pretty severe detonation. While it may not damage the engine because the ECU can pull ignition back, the truck will run very very bad

So is "running a truck like a sports car." Personally, I run 91 or higher in all my vehicles: Tacoma, S2000, R1.

ECU is flashed, working great so far. Will do a few weeks on 87 tune, and then try out 91.

    What differences should I expect?

I initially flashed the 1.04/91 tune. May have been smoother than the 1.03/87 tune but didn't feel increased low/mid range as others have reported. Now on my 2nd tank of gas with 1.04/87 and maybe it's my style of driving but not a significant difference from the 91 tune so I'm going to leave the 87 in until we get another update. Either tune is amazing compared to stock, and 87 saves me about 50 cents per gallon at the pump.

ETA; I also drive with ECT on all the time thanks to mesojdm's mod.

You'll feel more power in the low to mid range for sure. The 87 tune is great and really helps with drivability in a big big way, and in my experience though you aren't unlocking additional power it does seem to make the available power a lot easier to access. The 91 tune (for me) makes my truck feel much lighter on it's feet (like I unloaded a bed full of mulch - ha) and the midrange gains and even a bit on the low end are very noticeable. Dyno won't show a good representation of low end impacts on HP/TQ but you can feel it for sure much more w/ 91.

Plus for me, my engine has always just seemed to prefer premium dinosaurs.

Haven't even gotten my 18 yet (couple more weeks) and I already know it feels weak from the test drive. I love my 07 and I get on it every day passing these slow FL drivers. Hoping this $785 is well spent. I'm sure it's been asked before, but will I run into any issues with the dealer blaming the tune for problems? I guess I could just flash it back but I don't wanna do that every time I take it in.

FYI: pcmflash.exe is detected as a Trojan by Symantec. https://www.symantec.com/security-center/writeup/2016-122103-3723-99?vid=55650

Yeah, I ran into issues with Norton as well. Where ever you are downloading all of your OVTune files to, add that file to Norton's list of folders to ignore while doing it's scans. Has worked like a charm ever since.

I know it's a pain to go through these super long threads, but lots of people have taken their Taco's into the dealer and not a single person has had an issue. This includes people who have had their ECU's read for diagnositics of other problems. It doesn't show as anything different to the techs. The only thing that might seem weird to the tech is that the date from the last reset may be super short if you recently flashed it before taking it in.

And this "trail" is the same trail that would be left behind if you disconnected your battery to install speakers or clean your MAF or any other kind of normal stuff where you wouldn't want to risk damaging electrical components while disconnecting stuff. No worries. My trucks been in several times. If the tune was wound up and pushing the unsafe limits of the components it would be an issue - as is all ECU safeguards remain in place. It just drives a lot better.

Nice. Follow up question. If I upgrade exhaust and get a performance air intake, can these tunes handle that or would I need to have them do a custom one?

Most intake and exhaust upgrades available today wouldn't necessarily warrant any custom tuning (unless you were going FI or something) but as part of the kit and process, he's offering custom tuning so if in the future you want it customized for mods that's possible. Unlikely you'll need it though - many folks who have tunes today have upgraded / aftermarket intakes and exhausts that run great with the base 1.04 tune we're all running now

So on the order page it says 91/93, but it does come with the 87 correct? I think I'm ready to give this a go on my 16 :)
