So now I will share some of my stuff.

What amazes me is, i can tell you when I bought each one and why except for a couple the wife bought.

Up first. Bought this for interviews when I got out of the Corps........
    30 yrs ago last October.
Thinking it costs $199 back then. This is not actually the original one.
A bit of Jack Daniel's, took.it off, forgot where.
Liked it so much I bought the second one 6 months later.

Then I got my first bonus at my current company........about 13 yes ago.

So bought my first nice watch......

I literally would not take it out of the watch box, which I still have, for almost three months. I just knew I was gonna get mugged.

There’s no way they used an ebauche for that thing. I’d demand a full in house movement for a price like that.

The BE-83AR movement that powers the Codebreaker is a brand new caliber, and the first flyback in Bremont's arsenal. While the team at Bremont started with a Valjoux 7750, you can tell just by looking at the dial that this movement has been heavily modified to suit Bremont's purposes.

I haven't spent $10k on a watch yet but I've spent well over $3500 with my four watches combined with my Tissot being the most expensive at $1500. Yes you are buying a watch that tells time and you can go the cheap route with a timex or the expensive route with any number of brands out there. Thing is... If you don't want to spend $10k on a watch no one is forcing you. When you "do" buy an expensive watch, you are buying the craftsmanship, time invested in creating the watch, and the materials that the watch is made out of. Some people appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into these timepieces as I do. I don't look at them as jewelry. I look at them as works of art that serve a purpose. All you have to do is look at a very nice pocket watch and I think you can appreciate the time and beauty that goes into some of them.

I've got almost $15k invested in Photo / Video equipment and when I was working on the FD some of the guys used to give me shit because they could take photos with their iPhone. Sure an iPhone takes great pictures but I had to remind them, these same people owned $60,000 Ranger bass boats that would run over 70 mph. Quite honestly... I didn't know fish could swim that fast? Do you really "NEED" a boat that goes that fast? No, you don't. So it's all in what "you" like and are interested in. There is a market for everything.

*EDIT* I have a passion for cars. If I had the money I'd buy a Lamborghini Huracán Performante. It is one of the most impractical vehicles made but I want one. It serves no purpose other than to go fast and look good which is exactly what "I" want.

lol $10,000 can be cheap for watch. Yeah, it's just jewelry for men and a status symbol. I wear a "fake" Rolex submariner... It's a Seiko that somewhat closely resembles the Submariner, if you stand on one leg, tilt your head and close one eye.

    Now I am sad....

    I shall search the world

    Wide web, never sleeping,
    Except when I am tired
    An afternoon nap
    And long car rides
When I am not the driver,
    Until I find this.....
Or until i see something else
    That catches my attention.

Well said. I hate when people criticize anyone for how they spend their own hard earned money. I always say buy what makes you happy, whether it is a car, boat, golf clubs, or watches. But for some reason, people that spend their money on cars, boats, and golf clubs cannot wrap their heads around the joy I get from a new watch. To each their own.
