I'm certainly not qualified to tell you exactly what to look for, but there are techs on here who could. I'd be having a good look at the parts list, the pump that gets removed, and I'd also be asking questions as to the exact cause and if anything else was affected. Since a bolt seems to have been sheared off, there's also the question of how that's going to be repaired. Does it just thread into a backing plate or does it go into the cylinder head or a sub-assembly of that? Then there's the overriding issue of dealership's willingness to admit fault and what they're willing to do to make it right (besides fixing something they caused).

But we haven't gotten to the core of the issue yet.

It's nothing. The proper abbreviation is CKP, which helps differentiate from the other sensors that start with a C and tell Position

So I talked to the service manager... He stated that the problem happened where the bolt some how broke off and also broke some gasket? He stated that they checked and theres no signs of over torquing or cross-threading which means according to him rules out installation problems. He then continued to say they escalated this issue to their task(?) team and there was no known other reports of this sort of issue.

My concern is what if this caused MORE damage that may not be visible or may cause problems to occur later on...? He claims that if there is more problems it will usually happen 30 days to 3k miles. Which then doesn't help his case even more... It has been maybe 2 and a half weeks since replacing the HP fuel pump and less than 3k miles driven.
Only thing that has been done recently IS this TSB for the HP fuel pump... And I'm sure they will not admit fault even when theres no other known reports of this issue and problems happen usually 30days to 3k miles after somethings repaired/replaced.

I understand people make mistakes.. but when this sort of thing could have cause a bad accident I can't just let this slide... They are trained professionals that people trust when they take their cars in for service.

Parts and replacing bolts are supposed to happen tomorrow. We'll see what happens..... *sigh*

It sounds like you're planning to lawyer up on what could of happened and not what did happen.

Wait and see how they address the issue before going down that road.

If they're a decent business they'll implement more training to their service technicians, provide more QA after work is done so it won't happen again.

To keep you as a returning customer and compensatw your time they could extend your warranty out or offer lifetime free oil changes.

Like I mentioned earlier, that bolt head looks stripped by over tightening. Can you take a closeup pic of the edges of that bolt head and post them? Also the bottom - even in your original pic it looked stripped and sheared off by their mechanic using ugga-duggas on it instead of hand torquing it. The part probably only calls for less than 18 ft/lbs to do it, no way that bolt broke like that.

Hard to tell on that- doesnt look as bad as the other- Can you find a duplicate of the bolt to compare it with? Also, what does the head look like, are the edges smeared over?

Oh dear. Were they going to reuse it? If I thought it was broken, I would have kept it. In California, they have to give you back your old parts if you ask - I would ask for it back if they charge you for the work, especially if they don’t reuse it.

Doesn't change my mind about buying one later this year. I've owned a MINI Cooper S and a few Volkswagens so I know what the pit of despair looks like and this isn't it.

That looks like a super clean break. You could have sent it to get studied with a final report in writing to help your cause?

Glad you’re safe but not surprised it’s potentially a lack of detail on work done at a dealership. I would have the situation logged on your file which you should see on the paperwork once you get the truck back. Call Corporate if you want to but if something else happens I wouldn’t hesitate to ask for an extended warranty.
